Chromosomal abnormalities may cause growth failure before or since birth. 9q duplication is reported as a cause of intrauterine growth restriction, mild dysmporphism, and intellectual disabilities. We report a case of a maternally inherited 9q21.31q21.33 duplication causing prenatal and postnatal growth restriction with feeding refusal and mild facial dysmorphisms, prenatally diagnosed by single-nucleotide polymorphism array analysis. Hypothesis of the possible pathogenic mechanisms are discussed.

The treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease involves physical activity, weight loss, and management of comorbidities (diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia). In 2024, the American Food and Drug Administration provisionally approved resmetirom for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis. Other promising molecules are being evaluated (glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists, fibroblast growth factor 21 agonist).

A woman, gravida 5, para 3, presented with fetal ascites at 19 weeks of gestation. Urinary ascites was initially suspected because of massive ascites and oligohydramnios; however, biochemical analysis of fetal ascites was inconsistent with this diagnosis. A peritoneal-amniotic shunt was placed to prevent pulmonary hypoplasia.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the predictive capacity of placenta growth factor (PlGF) and pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) levels in the serum of pregnant women during early pregnancy (11-13 weeks) for fetal growth restriction (FGR).
Patients And Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted involving 1602 pregnant women who gave birth at The Second Nanning People's Hospital between March 2018 and September 2019. Serum concentrations of PlGF and PAPP-A were measured during early pregnancy for all participants.

Gastrointestinal eubiosis is essential for maintaining overall host wellbeing. Post-weaning diarrhea (PWD) is a common issue in pig development, arising from weaning stress, which disrupts the gut microbiota balance and increases susceptibility to infections. The primary bacterial pathogen linked to PWD is enterotoxigenic (ETEC).
