Article Abstract
We give a simple proof of Bell's inequality in quantum mechanics using theory from causal interaction, which, in conjunction with experiments, demonstrates that the local hidden variables assumption is false. The proof sheds light on relationships between the notion of causal interaction and interference between treatments.

Background And Aims: Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a life-threatening disease and the most common gastrointestinal emergency in premature infants. Accurate early diagnosis is challenging. Modified Bell's staging is routinely used to guide diagnosis, but early diagnostic signs are nonspecific, potentially leading to unobserved disease progression, which is problematic given the often rapid deterioration observed.

Background: Neisseria gonorrhoeae treatment guided by molecular antimicrobial susceptibility assays could improve treatment options and antimicrobial stewardship; however, few commercial assays are available. We aimed to investigate antimicrobial susceptibility of N gonorrhoeae isolates in New South Wales, Australia, and estimate the potential usefulness of hypothetical combinations of rapid molecular antimicrobial susceptibility assays.
Methods: In this proof-of-principle, population-based, retrospective analysis, we assessed N gonorrhoeae susceptibility data for ceftriaxone, azithromycin, ciprofloxacin, and penicillin.

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common form of skin cancer and responsible for most of the cancer related morbidities and pose a significant public health concern worldwide. Surgery treatment modality is able to clear the BCC, yet it mostly leads to scar formation. Plasmonic photothermal therapy (PPTT) which involves using gold nanostructures and near-infrared (NIR) light to kill the BCC cells by local heating is associated with excellent tissue preservation and healing without scarring.

In 2016, Steve Gull has outlined has outlined a proof of Bell's theorem using Fourier theory. Gull's philosophy is that Bell's theorem (or perhaps a key lemma in its proof) can be seen as a no-go theorem for a project in distributed computing with classical, not quantum, computers. We present his argument, correcting misprints and filling gaps.
