Patient portals have the potential to both improve and harm patient-clinician partnerships by reshaping how health information is exchanged and how patients and providers communicate. Patients ( = 20) and primary care clinicians ( = 11) purposively sampled from clinics serving diverse New Jersey communities were interviewed. Patients distinguished two portal functions - linear information exchange and bidirectional communication - but did so in different ways.

A flexible bipolarization conversion metasurface based on graphene is proposed in this paper, which can achieve single-band linear-to-linear (LTL) and dual-band linear-to-circular (LTC) polarization conversion. The polarization conversion ratio (PCR) and axial ratio (AR) are dynamically regulated by varying the sheet resistance () of graphene. When = 1400 Ω Sq, the designed metasurface achieves a single-band LTL polarization conversion of 7.

The Occlutech Atrial Flow Regulator is a self-expandable double-disc nitinol device with a central fenestration designed to create a calibrated communication across the interatrial septum. It has been used in adult patients with heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. Its use in the paediatric population or adults with CHD has been published in several case reports and case series.

Soils harbor some of the most diverse microbiomes on Earth. Interactions within these microbial communities are often mediated by natural products, many functioning as chemical signals. Specialized metabolites known as arginoketides, or arginine-derived polyketides, have been linked to mediate these interactions.

Background And Hypothesis: The dysconnectivity hypothesis of schizophrenia suggests that atypical neural communication underlies the disorder's diverse symptoms. Building on this framework, we propose that specific synaptic disturbances within thalamo-cortical circuits contribute to an imbalance in excitation and inhibition, leading to alteration in oscillations. Our study investigates these alterations and explores whether synaptic restoration can remediate neural activity of schizophrenia and align it with healthy patterns.
