Because of the low solubility of N atoms in metals, hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) growth has explained by surface reaction on metal rather than by penetration/precipitation of B and N atoms in metal. Here, we present an impressive pathway of h-BN formation at the interface between Ni and oxide substrate based on B-N molecular diffusion into Ni through individual atomic vacancies. First-principles calculations confirmed the formation energies of the h-BN layers on and under the metal and the probability of B-N molecular diffusion in metal. The interface growth behavior depends on the species of metal catalysts, and these simulation results well support experimental results.

Incorporating boron atoms into organic macrocycles imparts unique chemical, electronic, and optical properties. The concept of making use of dative boron-nitrogen (B ← N) bonds for the construction of macrocycles has been proposed, but very few examples have been prepared with functional structures, much less pillar-like and other prismatic macrocycles, and their various functionalities have not been fully exploited. Here, we introduce a "functional molecular wall" synthetic protocol based on the self-assembly characteristics of B ← N dative bonds to construct highly symmetrical macrocycles, forming a quasi-pentagonal-shaped macrocycle (named [5]pyBN-) with a pillar-like structure.

Background: Whether Molecular Adsorbent Recirculating System (MARS) dialysis and high-volume plasma exchange (HVPE) may improve survival in acute liver failure (ALF) remains unclear. A referral center retrospective cohort study was conducted on patients admitted to ICU with ALF and who fulfilled liver transplantation (LTx) criteria from 2000 to 2021.
Methods: The whole study period was divided into three 7-year consecutive periods (A, B, C) depending on the patients' date of admission.

Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of a comprehensive screening program for individuals with genetic predisposition to cancer, focusing on early detection and improved treatment outcomes through systematic clinical, instrumental, and laboratory monitoring of pathogenic/likely pathogenic (P/LP) variant carriers.
Materials And Methods: The registry screening program included two groups: (1) patients with cancer with confirmed germline P/LP variants associated with cancer predisposition, and (2) healthy individuals carrying germline P/LP variants predisposing to cancer development. In total, 816 participants were included.
