Clear cell sarcoma of soft tissues is a very rare, malignant soft tissue tumor that usually arises in the extremities, with a predilection for the lower limbs. This report presents a 45-year-old male with a painless mass in the right lumbar region for one year. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a 3.6×3.2×1.5-cm soft tissue mass of the right lumbar region. The tumoral cells had pleomorphic nuclei and large amounts of clear cytoplasm, and a proportion of the cells contained melanin. Immunohistochemical analysis was performed, which identified that the cells were positive for S-100, MITF and HMB-45 tumor markers. The patient underwent a postoperative chemotherapy protocol and had no local recurrences at one year post-surgery.

Low back pain is estimated to affect more than 70% of the population. Recently, interspinous posterior devices are gaining attention as a less invasive alternative to the traditional pedicle screw systems. However, since most of these devices are not suitable for the L5-S1 segment, the goals for this study are to design a tailored fixation system for the L5-S1 level and to study its effects on the degenerated spine.

Objective: The evidence on ankylosing spinal disorders (ASDs), including ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH), in the context of spinal fracture stems from studies with relatively small sample sizes. There are no studies addressing the patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) outcomes associated with spinal fracture in this population. The aim of this study was to investigate differences in complications, mortality, PROMs, and HRQOL in patients with and without ASD who had been treated for spinal fracture.

Objective: Multiple studies have demonstrated an increased risk of lower extremity injuries for females in frontal crashes. This study aimed to investigate whether sex-based anatomical differences, as measured on computed tomography (CT) scans of the abdomen and pelvis, contribute to lower extremity injury risk.
Methods: The Crash Injury Research and Engineering Network (CIREN) database (2017-2023) was queried for frontal collisions.

Introduction: Accurate and timely diagnosis of central nervous system infections (CNSIs) is critical, yet current gold-standard techniques like lumbar puncture (LP) remain invasive and prone to delay. This study proposes a novel noninvasive framework integrating handcrafted radiomic features and deep learning (DL) to identify cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) alterations on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients with acute CNSI.
Methods: Fifty-two patients diagnosed with acute CNSI who underwent LP and brain MRI within 48 h of hospital admission were retrospectively analyzed alongside 52 control subjects with normal neurological findings.

The number of thoracolumbar vertebrae (NTLV) and the number of ribs (NR) are economically important traits in pigs due to their influence on carcass length and meat yield. Although is an established key gene, it fails to fully account for population-level variation in vertebral count, necessitating a further exploration of its genetic mechanisms. Given the efficacy of crossbred populations in mapping the genetic determinants of phenotypic variation, we analyzed 439 pigs from a Landrace × Yorkshire cross.
