We propose a proton range verification technique for passive scattering proton therapy systems where spread out Bragg peak (SOBP) fields are produced with rotating range modulator wheels. The technique is based on the correlation of time patterns of the prompt gamma ray emission with the range of protons delivering the SOBP. The main feature of the technique is the ability to verify the proton range with a single point of measurement and a simple detector configuration. We performed four-dimensional (time-dependent) Monte Carlo simulations using TOPAS to show the validity and accuracy of the technique. First, we validated the hadronic models used in TOPAS by comparing simulations and prompt gamma spectrometry measurements published in the literature. Second, prompt gamma simulations for proton range verification were performed for the case of a water phantom and a prostate cancer patient. In the water phantom, the proton range was determined with 2 mm accuracy with a full ring detector configuration for a dose of ~2.5 cGy. For the prostate cancer patient, 4 mm accuracy on range determination was achieved for a dose of ~15 cGy. The results presented in this paper are encouraging in view of a potential clinical application of the technique.

Background: Alopecia universalis (AU) is the most severe form of alopecia areata (AA), characterized by complete scalp and body hair loss. While post-COVID-19 hair loss is often attributed to telogen effluvium (TE), emerging evidence suggests that COVID-19 may also trigger AU through immune dysregulation, particularly via interferon-gamma (IFN-γ)-mediated inflammation. The chronic and relapsing nature of AU raises challenges in long-term disease management, particularly regarding treatment duration and relapse prevention.

Case Presentation: A man in his seventies underwent robot-assisted laparoscopic radical cystectomy with ileal conduit diversion for muscle-invasive bladder cancer. Three years postoperatively, CT revealed metastases to the para-aortic lymph nodes and rectum.

Transverse myelitis (TM) is an inflammatory disorder of the spinal cord often associated with autoimmune diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) or neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD); however, it is rarely linked to rheumatoid arthritis (RA). We present the case of a 28-year-old woman with subacute ascending numbness, lancinating pain, and bilateral lower extremity weakness resulting in significant functional impairment. Despite upper motor neuron signs on examination and supportive cerebrospinal fluid findings, including elevated gamma globulins and positive myelin basic protein, spinal MRI remained negative.

Background: Hepatosplenic T-cell lymphoma (HSTCL) is a rare and aggressive subtype of peripheral T-cell lymphoma with a poor prognosis, primarily affecting young adult males, many with a background of immunosuppression or autoimmune disease.
Case: We present the case of a 27-year-old male previously treated with azathioprine who developed pancytopenia. Bone marrow biopsy revealed severe aplasia with partial infiltration by gamma-delta T-lymphocytes (Tγδ).
