The position of fluid invasion in an open capillary increases as the square root of time and ceases when the capillary and hydrostatic forces are balanced, when viscous and inertia terms are negligible. Although this fluid invasion into open-end capillaries has been well described, detailed studies of fluid invasion in closed-end capillaries have not been explored thoroughly. Thus, we demonstrated, both theoretically and experimentally, a fluid invasion in closed-end capillaries, where the movement of the meniscus and the invasion velocity are accompanied by adiabatic gas compression inside the capillary. Theoretically, we found the fluid oscillations during invasion at short time scales by solving the one-dimensional momentum balance. This oscillatory motion is evaluated to determine which physical forces dominate the different conditions, and is further described by a damped driven harmonic oscillator model. However, this oscillating motion is not observed in the experiments. This inconsistency is due to the following: first, a continuous decrease in the radius of the curvature caused by decreasing the invasion velocity and increasing pressure inside the closed-end capillary, and second, the shear stress increase in the short time scale by the plug like velocity profile within the entrance length. The viscous term of modified momentum equation can be written as K(8μl/rc(2))(dl/dt) by using the multiplying factor K, which represents the increase of shear stress. The K is 7.3, 5.1, and 4.8 while capillary aspect ratio χc is 740, 1008, and 1244, respectively.

One of the most significant complications following EEA is cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage, especially in high-flow cases. Based on over two decades of institutional experience with 6,221 EEA procedures, this study aims to categorize and evaluate standardized reconstruction strategies based on intraoperative CSF flow rates in order to optimize outcomes and reduce postoperative complications.

Background: Invasive central nervous system (CNS) aspergillosis is rare among human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive patients due to preserved neutrophil function, despite significant CD4+ T-cell depletion. Diagnosis typically requires histopathologic confirmation, but polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing has introduced new challenges due to its high sensitivity but limited specificity.
Case Presentation: We describe a newly diagnosed 43-year-old HIV-positive male with concurrent Hodgkin lymphoma who presented with progressive neurological decline and a ring-enhancing brain lesion.

Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the diagnostic value of prenatal chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA) for fetuses at high risk for various conditions on chromosomal abnormalities.
Methods: In the study, 8,560 clinical samples were collected from pregnant women between February 2018 and June 2022, including 75 villus, 7,642 amniotic fluid, and 843 umbilical cord blood samples. All samples were screening for chromosomal abnormalities using both CMA and karyotyping.

The vascular endothelium is responsible for regulating vascular tone, maintaining fluid homeo-stasis, and preventing platelet aggregation, exhibits regulatory properties in vasorelaxation and vasoconstriction - it produces, among others, nitric oxide and endothelin. The imbalance of vasoactive molecules leads to the loss of their function, known as endothelial dysfunction. Impaired endothelial function is observed in people with metabolic disorders, often preceding the onset of the disease by several years.
