The radial artery (RA) can be used as part of an arterial revascularization strategy in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). It is easy to harvest and several randomized controlled trials and meta-analyses have reported superior long-term patency over saphenous vein grafts. However, the RA is not used as frequently as the saphenous vein and questions remain regarding its optimum use as a conduit. This article comprehensively appraises current evidence surrounding outcomes, patient selection, harvesting technique, intraoperative strategy, and graft spasm prophylaxis to provide a contemporary review of the use of the RA as a conduit in CABG.

Reconstruction of the calcaneal region presents unique challenges due to its complex anatomy and critical weight-bearing function. This retrospective study aims to report our experience in cases of calcaneal defects repaired with various free flap types, and to evaluate the long-term outcomes of the reconstructions. We retrospectively reviewed 25 patients who underwent microsurgical free flap reconstruction for calcaneal defects between January 1997 and March 2022.

Background: Arterial catheterisation is a critical procedure in paediatric patients undergoing surgery; however, it poses certain risks. Complications such as thrombus formation, arterial stenosis and haematoma may occur, yet their true incidence and contributing factors remain incompletely understood.
Objective: To assess the incidence of complications and identify associated risk factors following radial arterial catheterisation in paediatric patients.

Objective: The distal transradial approach has been one of the options for endovascular neurointervention because of the low risk of puncture site complications. However, the conventional and distal transradial artery approaches frequently cause cannulation-induced vasospasms, which can usually be prevented by vasodilators. The aim was to evaluate the effects of local infiltration using a puncture site cocktail of lidocaine mixed with nitroglycerin on puncture success and vasospasm for distal transradial cerebral angiography.
