Article Abstract

Objective: To optimize the prescription and technique for preparing saikoside (SS) liposomes and evaluate its quality.

Methods: The preparation methods of liposomes included film dispersion, ether injection, reverse phase evaporation and pH gradients were explored. The encapsulation ratio was determined by macroreticular resin method. The main factors affecting encapsulation ratio were studied by single factor analysis and central composite design.

Results: The appearance of SS liposomes prepared by optimized method was satisfactory. The encapsulation ratio was more than 60% and the verage particle size of SS liposomes was 110 nm.

Conclusion: The formulation and preparation process is practical and simple for the preparation of SS liposomes. It is valuable to be further studied.

Introduction: Combined vascular endothelial growth factor/programmed death-ligand 1 blockade through atezolizumab/bevacizumab (A/B) is the current standard of care in advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). A/B substantially improved objective response rates compared with tyrosine kinase inhibitor sorafenib; however, a majority of patients will still not respond to A/B. Strong scientific rationale and emerging clinical data suggest that faecal microbiota transfer (FMT) may improve antitumour immune response on PD-(L)1 blockade.

Hydrogen sulfide (HS) has been recognized as one of the three main gasotransmitters found extensively in tissues, regulating functions crucial for survival. In many pathological cases, its concentration drops from the intrinsic level, impairing healing and leading to unmet regeneration outcomes. A hybrid microparticle/hydrogel system was developed to sustainably release HS and regulate its level in deprived tissues.

Chronic wounds, particularly in diabetic patients, are characterized by prolonged inflammation, impaired angiogenesis, and delayed tissue regeneration. To address these challenges, the author developed a bioactive scaffold by incorporating quercetin nanoparticles (Qn) into a chitosan/silk fibroin (ChS) matrix, aiming to accelerate and enhance the wound healing process. Quercetin nanoparticles were synthesized via a solvent displacement method and incorporated into a ChS scaffold using a blending and freeze-drying technique.

This study developed a vegan chocolate spread using spray-dried plant-based milk powders (soy, lentil, and rice), fortified with nano-liposomal vitamin D3 and an oleogel-balanced omega fatty acid to enhance nutritional quality. The plant-based milk powders exhibited high protein (up to 26.8% in soy), fiber, and micronutrients.

High-Performance Air-Stable Polymer Monolayer Transistors for Monolithic 3D CMOS logics.

Adv Mater

September 2025

State Key Laboratory of Fabrication Technologies for Integrated Circuits, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, 100029, China.

The monolayer transistor, where the semiconductor layer is a single molecular layer, offers an ideal platform for exploring transport mechanisms both theoretically and experimentally by eliminating the influence of spatially correlated microstructure. However, the structure-property relations in polymer monolayers remain poorly understood, leading to low transistor performance to date. Herein, a self-confinement effect is demonstrated in the polymer monolayer with nanofibrillar microstructures and edge-on orientation, as characterized by the 4D scanning confocal electron diffraction method.
