Autologous fat grafting is a method that has been used for breast augmentation since last century. This case report presents a woman with non-irradiated breast requested autologous fat grafting after modified radical mastectomy for breast cancer. An external soft tissue expander was used before fat grafting. This innovative technique showed benefits for the patient, with tight skin after the operation.

Auricular reconstruction is essential for restoring facial symmetry and achieving a well-contoured, natural-appearing ear. Traditional methods using autologous costal cartilage often delay reconstruction until around age 10, when sufficient rib cartilage is available, which can pose physical and psychological challenges for pediatric patients. Porous high-density polyethylene (PHDPE) implants offer significant advantages, including the ability to perform reconstruction earlier, reduced morbidity, improved ear definition, and the possibility of a single-stage outpatient procedure.

Hepatocyte apoptosis is a key feature of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), but the fate of apoptotic hepatocytes in MASH is poorly understood. Here, we explore the hypotheses that clearance of dead hepatocytes by liver macrophages (efferocytosis) is impaired in MASH because of low expression of the efferocytosis receptor T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain containing 4 (TIM4; gene ) by MASH liver macrophages, which then drives liver fibrosis in MASH. We show that apoptotic hepatocytes accumulate in human and experimental MASH, using mice fed the fructose-palmitate-cholesterol (FPC) diet or the high-fat, choline-deficient amino acid-defined (HF-CDAA) diet.

MR409, a synthetic growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) analogue, has demonstrated therapeutic potential in enhancing islet cell transplantation efficacy in diabetes mice and exerts beneficial effects on cardiovascular diseases. The present study investigated the renoprotective effects of MR409 on db/db and streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic mice, focusing on its role in modulating oxidative stress and ferroptosis. db/db or STZ mice combined with high fat diet were used to establish the type 2 diabetic models.

Background: Pediatric patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) are at high risk for fungal infections including Candida, Aspergillus, and Mucorales necessitating the use of broad-spectrum antifungal agents such as posaconazole for prophylaxis and at times for treatment of invasive fungal infections. When first approved, posaconazole was limited to an immediate release oral suspension, which exhibited unreliable absorption dependent on co-administration with high fat meals. During HSCT, patients commonly have significant nausea, vomiting, and decreased enteral intake making this formulation particularly challenging.
