Background: The association between expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), and the long-term outcomes in treated nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) was studied.
Methods: Expression of COX-2, VEGF, and EGFR by immunohistochemical (IHC) staining was assessed in 128 patients with NPC. Overall survival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS), locoregional control, and distant metastasis-free survival rates were compared for different expression levels of each marker. Multivariate analysis was by the Cox regression model.
Results: Median follow-up after radiation therapy ± chemotherapy was 116 months. Univariate and multivariate analyses demonstrated that COX-2, VEGF, EGFR, and clinical stage were all independent predictors for OS, DFS, locoregional control, and distant metastasis-free survival rates.
Conclusions: High expression of COX-2, VEGF, and EGFR were independent adverse prognostic factors for long-term outcomes in nonmetastatic NPC independent of clinical stage.

Introduction: Bevacizumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and is widely used in oncology for its anti-angiogenic properties. However, VEGF inhibition may result in significant nephrotoxicity, including thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA). While systemic TMA is well-described, isolated renal-limited TMA remains under recognised.

Background: Cryopyrin-associated periodic syndrome (CAPS) is an autoinflammatory disease caused by a gain-of-function mutation in the gene, which regulates inflammasome-mediated interleukin-1β (IL-1β) production. This leads to recurrent episodes of fever, rash, and arthritis, typically beginning in childhood.
Objective: To demonstrate the role of a missense mutation, c.

Gliomas are the most common primary malignant tumors of the central nervous system (CNS), and despite progress in molecular diagnostics and targeted therapies, their prognosis remains poor. In recent years, immunotherapy has emerged as a promising treatment modality in cancer therapy. However, the inevitable immune evasion by tumor cells is a key barrier affecting therapeutic efficacy.

Purpose: This study aimed to conduct functional proteomics across breast cancer subtypes with bioinformatics analyses.
Methods: Candidate proteins were identified using nanoscale liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (NanoLC-MS/MS) from core needle biopsy samples of early stage (0-III) breast cancers, followed by external validation with public domain gene-expression datasets (TCGA TARGET GTEx and TCGA BRCA).
Results: Seventeen proteins demonstrated significantly differential expression and protein-protein interaction (PPI) found the strong networks including COL2A1, COL11A1, COL6A1, COL6A2, THBS1 and LUM.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the predictive capacity of placenta growth factor (PlGF) and pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) levels in the serum of pregnant women during early pregnancy (11-13 weeks) for fetal growth restriction (FGR).
Patients And Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted involving 1602 pregnant women who gave birth at The Second Nanning People's Hospital between March 2018 and September 2019. Serum concentrations of PlGF and PAPP-A were measured during early pregnancy for all participants.
