Superficial myofibroblastoma is a rare mesenchymal tumor in the lower female genital tract. The exact etiology of superficial myofibroblastoma remains unclear. The association of viral infection and mesenchymal tumors has been well established in some particular types of soft tissue tumors. In the lower female genital tract, the intimate correlation of viral infection and tumor pathogenesis has been also proposed. We present a 59-year-old woman with postcoital bleeding for 1 month. The pelvic examination revealed a 2-cm polypoid mass mimicking leiomyoma at the vaginal fornix. Local excision was performed, and the pathological examination revealed a superficial myofibroblastoma. No tumor recurrence was noted during the 12-month follow-up. Pathological differential diagnosis of this tumor from other mesenchymal tumors is essential because of its distinct clinicopathological features. Furthermore, fluorescence in situ hybridization of human papilloma virus (HPV) and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), as well as immunohistochemical staining of human herpesvirus 8 (HHV8), was negative in tumor cells. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first group to study the possible relationship of viral infection and the occurrence of this mesenchymal tumor. Our results suggested no association of vaginal superficial myofibroblastoma and infection with HPV, EBV, or HHV8.

Although Müllerian adenosarcoma of the uterus shows weak malignant potential, there are still some factors indicating a worse prognosis. An incontinuous pelvic pain with urinary frequency, urgency, and hypouricemia arose in a mid-70s woman who refused to acknowledge the history of Tamoxifen use. A huge mass in the pelvis was found simultaneously by palpation, B-ultrasonography, and computed tomography.

Background: En bloc resection of the sacrum, whether in the form of total or partial sacrectomy, is the mainstay treatment for patients with primary malignant sacral tumors. However, these surgical procedures can lead to pelvic floor dysfunction, with symptoms such as incontinence and impaired rectal function that can severely impact patients' quality of life. Therefore, effective interventions to restore pelvic floor function would be helpful for affected patients.

Background: Water contents (C) of soft tissues are different and influence (a) the absorption of water-filtered infrared-A radiation (wIRA) used in superficial hyperthermia, (b) key parameters of the Pennes' bioheat transfer equation, and (c) characteristics of heat exchange within and between tissues.
Aim: The effect of C on these parameters has been quantified for normal skin, female breast and corresponding malignancies with C values up to ≈ 1.6 times higher.

Superficial leiomyosarcoma is a rare malignancy of muscular origin arising in the skin and soft tissues. Although wide local excision is the standard of care for these tumors, Mohs micrographic surgery is a promising treatment option as it provides for optimal margin control. The object of this systematic review is to examine the efficacy of micrographic surgery in the management of superficial leiomyosarcoma.

Introduction: While the vast majority of penile malignancies are of epithelial origin, most commonly squamous cell carcinoma, mesenchymal tumors of the penis, though rare, represent an important and diagnostically diverse group of neoplasms with variable clinical behavior.
Materials And Methods: We retrieved cases of primary penile mesenchymal tumors diagnosed or treated at our institution over a 24-year period. Histologic diagnoses were confirmed through systematic review of archived hematoxylin and eosin and immunohistochemical slides.
