Background: Myocardial infarction due to isolated spontaneous dissection in the septal branch of the coronary arteries is a rare cause of myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary artery disease and is challenging to diagnose.
Case Summary: A 61-year-old woman presenting with acute chest pain exhibited slight ST-segment elevation in leads V1-3 on electrocardiography. Echocardiography revealed mild hypokinetic septal wall motion.

BACKGROUND Circumferential acute aortic dissection is a rare and fatal condition. We present a surgical case of a 76-year-old woman presenting with Stanford type A acute aortic dissection with intimo-intimal intussusception. CASE REPORT A 76-year-old woman living on a remote island with no significant medical history visited a local general hospital because of sudden anterior thoracic strangulation.

Hemodynamic variations influence the location of entry tears in aortic dissection. This study investigates whether variations in tear strength across the human aorta contribute to these clinical manifestations. Circumferential and axial strips were collected from nine axial and two circumferential sites along each autopsied aorta, yielding 1188 samples (11 aortas × 18 sites × 2 directions × 3 layers per site).

Internal carotid artery webs (ICAWs) have been described as noninflammatory, nonatherosclerotic shelf-like projections of intimal fibrous tissue which may be the culprit for embolic stroke of unknown origin. Carotid webs are an atypical form of intimal fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) and internal carotid webs create areas of stagnation and recirculation distal to the web that favor thrombus formation and embolism. Symptomatic carotid webs are conventionally associated with young women presenting with few vascular risk factors and < 50% stenosis in the affected ICA.
