Purpose: This study aimed to develop a composite nanozyme system (Au/PB-Ce6-HA) based on gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and Prussian blue nanoparticles (PBNPs) to combat tumor hypoxia and insufficient endogenous hydrogen peroxide (HO) deficiency, thus enhancing the efficacy of sonodynamic therapy (SDT) and starvation therapy for liver cancer.
Methods: The Au/PB-Ce6-HA system was constructed by in situ embedding AuNPs on PBNPs, loading the sonosensitizer Chlorin e6 (Ce6), and surface-coating with thiolated hyaluronic acid (HA-SH). The system was evaluated both in vitro and in vivo to assess its ability to catalyze glucose to generate HO, decompose HO to produce oxygen, and generate highly toxic reactive oxygen species (ROS) under ultrasound irradiation.

Ni-Fe Prussian blue analogue (PBA) nanorods were successfully synthesized using an innovative one-dimensional molybdate template method, followed by the preparation of Ni-Fe-P nanorods through a phosphating process. These nanorods are meticulously constructed from two metal phosphides, Ni 5 P 4 and FeP. As an anode material for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs), the self-sacrificial template synthesis of Ni-Fe-P nanorods demonstrates remarkable electrochemical performance, achieving a reversible specific capacity of up to 678.

The growing global demand for clean and sustainable energy has intensified the development of novel technologies capable of harnessing naturally available resources. Among these, blue energy, referring to the power generated from the mixing of waters with different salinities, has emerged as a promising yet underutilized source. This perspective presents a comprehensive synthesis of recent advances in electrochemical harvesting systems, with a particular focus on Mixing Entropy Batteries (MEBs) as efficient, membrane-free devices for salinity gradient energy recovery.

Disrupting homeostasis within tumor cells by interfering with their diverse metabolic pathways is an attractive tumor treatment method. However, current methods generally focus on one pathway within tumor cells, such as glycolysis or the glutamine (Gln) metabolic pathway, overlooking potential strong correlations between different cellular pathways and preventing a comprehensive blockade of the tumor energy supply, thereby compromising therapeutic efficacy. Herein, a photochemistry-activated peroxynitrite (ONOO) nanogenerator, capable of simultaneously inhibiting glycolysis and Gln metabolism in tumor cells, is proposed to achieve enhanced metabolic therapy.

Iron carbide catalysts, particularly the FeC phase, hold significant potential for efficient CO hydrogenation to olefins, yet stabilizing this phase under reactive conditions remains a major challenge. Herein, we report a robust and efficient synthesis of nearly phase-pure FeC catalysts derived from Prussian blue analogues, whose stability is significantly enhanced by strategically incorporating K and Mg promoters. Comprehensive characterization reveals that K accelerates the carbonization process and markedly enhances olefin selectivity, whereas Mg effectively suppresses water-induced oxidation, preserving the structural integrity of the FeC phase.
