This study investigates the performance of Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) for detecting gas pipeline leaks under controlled experimental conditions, using multiple fiber cable types deployed both internally and externally. A 21 m steel pipeline with a 1 m test section was configured to simulate leakage scenarios with varying leak sizes (¼", ½", ¾", and 1"), orientations (top, side, bottom), and flow velocities (2-18 m/s). Experiments were conducted under two installation conditions: a supported pipeline mounted on tripods, and a buried pipeline laid on the ground and covered with sand.

Background: Delirium is prevalent in intensive care units (ICUs), often leading to adverse outcomes. Hypoactive delirium is particularly difficult to detect. Despite the development of new tools, the timely identification of hypoactive delirium remains clinically challenging due to its dynamic nature, lack of human resources, lack of reliable monitoring tools, and subtle clinical signs including hypovigilance.

Optical adiabatons are specific shape-invariant pulse pairs propagating at the reduced group velocity and without optical absorption in the medium. The purpose of this study is to analyze the possibility of adiabaton formation in multilevel atomic systems with the focus on M-type and double tripod (DT) systems having five energy levels and different interaction configurations. Findings show that the M-type atomic system is prone to intensity dependent group velocity and pulse front steepening which prevents the formation of long range optical adiabatons.

In this work, we designed and synthesized D-A type tripodal phenothiazine derivatives to examine the influence of different functional groups on the photophysical properties and response to external stimuli. The compounds show emission in both solution and solid-state. Intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) characteristics are evidenced by the fluorescence studies revealing positive solvatochromism in compounds.

Electron-deficient heptazine-based molecular and polymeric materials are a fast-growing area of research with their exciting electronic and optical properties, finding potential applications in catalysis, optoelectronics etc. However, the continuous thirst for the design of heptazine-core-based molecular systems has grown in interest in the search for a new class of materials. Herein, we have synthesized two heptazine core-based C-symmetric tripodal molecular systems decorated with three azobenzene and phenylazo-3,5-dimethylisoxazole as photoswitchable units connected through ─NH linker.
