A rugged and reproducible liquid chromatographic tandem mass spectrometric bioanalytical method was developed for the quantitation of drug stereoisomers in human plasma. Column temperature was shown to be an important variable toward optimizing diastereomer selectivity, resolution and analysis cycle time. Non-linear Van't Hoff plots and changes in peak shape with temperature suggested that selectivity was governed by multiple retention mechanisms. The high temperature chromatography method was validated and used to analyze samples from human clinical trials. Utilization of high temperature chromatography offered alternative selectivity and is a viable approach for difficult separations in regulated bioanalysis.

Despite great advances in decarbonylation of aldehydes using noble metals, the reaction is largely limited to high reaction temperatures and displays poor functional group tolerance. Herein, we report photo-irradiated decarbonylation of aldehydes, promoted by -W(N)(dppe), at room temperature. A wide range of substrates with diverse functional groups underwent decarbonylation efficiently to give the corresponding arene and alkane products in moderate to high yields.

Increasing evidence indicates that the loss of soil microbial α-diversity triggered by environmental stress negatively impacts microbial functions; however, the effects of microbial α-diversity on community functions under environmental stress are poorly understood. Here, we investigated the changes in bacterial and fungal α- diversity along gradients of five natural stressors (temperature, precipitation, plant diversity, soil organic C and pH) across 45 grasslands in China and evaluated their connection with microbial functional traits. By quantifying the five environmental stresses into an integrated stress index, we found that the bacterial and fungal α-diversity declined under high environmental stress across three soil layers (0-20 cm, 20-40 cm and 40-60 cm).

Background And Objectives: Pollen-food allergy syndrome (PFAS) is a frequent comorbidity in individuals with hay fever. Identifying risk factors and allergen clusters can aid targeted interventions and management strategies. Objective: This study characterizes PFAS in patients with hay fever and identifies associated risk factors using the mobile health platform, AllerSearch.

Background: Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection with growing global impact, including international travellers travelling to and from endemic regions. This systematic literature review aimed to assess the clinical and economic burden of dengue in travellers from non-endemic countries.
Methods: This systematic review was conducted following the PRISMA guidelines to assess the incidence, prevalence, mortality, healthcare resource use, and costs of dengue fever in travellers between non-endemic and endemic regions.

Unlabelled: Concurrent presentation of pulmonary nocardiosis and granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) is exceptionally rare and diagnostically challenging, given the overlapping clinical and radiological features. We report a 54-year-old female with fever, cough, weight loss, and arthralgia. Chest imaging showed multiple pulmonary nodules; serology revealed positive anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies -proteinase 3, and lung biopsy demonstrated necrotizing granulomatous inflammation with Nocardia species.
