We present a new diamond anvil cell (DAC), hereafter called the fluoX DAC, dedicated for x-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis of trace elements in fluids under high pressure and high temperature to 10 GPa and 1273 K at least. This new setup has allowed measurement of Rb, Sr, Y, Zr, with concentrations of 50 ppm to 5.6 GPa and 1273 K. The characteristics of the fluoX DAC consist in an optimized shielding and collection geometry in order to reduce the background level in XRF spectrum. Consequently, minimum detection limits of 0.3 ppm were calculated for the abovementioned elements in this new setup. This new DAC setup coupled to the hard x-rays focusing beamline ID22 (ESRF, France) offers the possibility to analyze in situ at high pressure and high temperature, ppm level concentrations of heavy elements, rare earth elements, and first transition metals, which are of prime importance in geochemical processes. The fluoX DAC is also suitable to x-ray diffraction over the same high pressure-temperature range.

Objective: This study investigated the relationship of maternal serum uric acid, cystatin C (CysC), and coagulation indices [international normalized ratio (INR) and fibrinogen (FIB)] during pregnancy with clinical features and prognosis of early-onset pre-eclampsia.
Methods: Patients with pre-eclampsia (n = 133) were retrospectively selected, with clinical features and maternal uric acid, CysC, INR, and FIB levels collected. The relationship between clinical features and maternal uric acid, CysC, INR, and FIB was analyzed by Pearson's and Spearman's analyses.

To evaluate the quality of pomegranate peels from different cultivars, pomegranate peel samples from 47 cultivars were compared and classified based on fingerprints and chemical components obtained using HPLC-PDA-MS/MS combined with chemometric methods. Three pattern recognition methods, namely, hierarchical cluster analysis, principal component analysis, and partial least square-discriminant analysis, were used to establish classification models. Results showed that the contents of 10 components from pomegranate peel were determined.

Background: Delirium is a common condition at the end of life and causes significant distress in patients and their loved ones. A precipitant factor can be found in less than half of the patients and the management interventions are limited.
Case Description: A patient in his late sixties with low English proficiency with a metastatic neuroendocrine tumor was transferred to a palliative care unit on non-invasive bilevel ventilation.

Hypertension represents a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. As a diet high in sodium chloride is associated with hypertension, so-called "blood pressure salts" are attracting increasing scientific interest. These are characterized by a partial replacement of sodium chloride by other salts, mainly potassium and magnesium compounds.

Rationale: Chrysotoxine, a bibenzyl derivative from the stems of Dendrobium medicinal herbs, has recently emerged as a promising therapeutic candidate for cervical cancer. This study aimed to characterize chrysotoxine metabolites across multiple hepatocyte species and in rat urine.
Methods: Metabolites were identified and characterized using liquid chromatography coupled with benchtop Orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-Orbitrap-MS/MS) combined with Compound Discoverer software.
