This work answers some questions related to detection of rheological properties of soft tissues exemplified in myometrium, stressed by external tensile force. In the first stage of the experiment the tissue samples were ciclically stressed and response loops were recorded. This test proved severe plastical deformation of samples, which is not usually being stated for living tissues. In addition to course, growth and stabilizing this deformation also energetical losses of individual hysteresis loops of the response were evaluated. In the second stage of the experiment the tissue samples were exposed to a loading force changed in step-wise manner in four steps. The sample response to each force step was processed and evaluated separately to obtain basic properties of used model. In next step, the changes in model characteristics were obtained and evaluated for each element in subsequent force steps. By reason of following easier interpretation, the quite simple visco-elastic model, defined by differential equation with analytic solution, is used. The results prove necessary to introduce in model both spring and damper constants dependent on the magnitude of the loading force and one damper with even time dependent constant. The interindividual variability of characteristic values of the model elements is surprisingly low. On the other side, they are strongly dependent on load magnitude. Complete mathematical model of uterine wall tissue is obtained by amending the principal equation by formulas describing changes in individual components of the model.

Ultra-sensitive pH-responsive drug delivery system designed to operate within the slightly acidic microenvironment of tumors are highly desired for hydrogel applications in cancer therapy. In this study, 4-Formylbenzoic acid modified polyvinyl alcohol (PVA-FBA, PF) was synthesized and utilized as a carrier for encapsulating the anticancer drug Doxorubicin (Dox). This was subsequently crosslinked with polyethylenimine (PEI) via benzoic-imine bond to form drug-loaded PVA-FBA/PEI hydrogel (D-PFP).

This study investigated the effect of refining time on the physicochemical and functional properties of anhydrous cream prepared from a palm-sunflower oil blend using a stirred ball mill. Refining was performed for 0-300 min, and its impact on particle size distribution, rheology, oxidative stability, and thermal behavior was assessed. The target particle fineness (D90 ≤ 30 μm) was achieved at approximately 180 min, with negligible reduction thereafter.

With growing public attention to environmental issues and sustainable development, biodegradable bio-based plastics have attracted widespread interest. This study reveals the chemical-physical synergistic regulation mechanism of biodegradable PLA/PBAT blends through the synergistic modification of epoxidized natural rubber (ENR) and epoxy chain extender (ADR). Interfacial interaction analysis shows that PBAT tends to encapsulate ENR to form aggregates.

This study investigates how hydrophobic and hydrophilic modifications at the C-terminus of the base peptide, KFEFEFKFK (KbpK), affect the hydrogel macroscopic properties. By the incorporation of phenylalanine (F, hydrophobic) and lysine (K, hydrophilic) residues, four variants, KbpK-K, KbpK-F, KbpK-KF, and KbpK-FK, were designed and evaluated. pH-concentration phase diagrams and Fourier transform infrared confirmed clear links showing how peptide hydrophobicity and charge influence β-sheet formation and macroscopic phase behavior.

Emulsion formation presents a significant operational challenge in oil production, necessitating the continuous development of novel and effective demulsification methods. However, the lack of a fundamental understanding of the mechanisms that regulate the formation of these emulsions significantly complicates this process. In this study, we systematically investigated the influence of Ca ions on crude oil emulsions.
