Article Abstract

Bar arrangements used by conventional diffractive barcodes are usually similar to those used by diffusive barcodes. We, however, propose a modified diffractive barcode with bar arrangements different from those used by diffusive barcodes. A modified diffractive barcode pattern is composed of many parallel grating-dot lines. When the grating-dot lines are scanned by a laser beam in sequence, different bright bar arrangements corresponding to different codes appear in sequence.

This paper presents the results of our study on the relationship between the surface chemical states, which are influenced by ligands, and photoluminescence (PL) characteristics in cesium lead halide perovskite nanocrystals (NCs). NCs were synthesized the Ligand-Assisted Reprecipitation (LARP) and Ultrasonic-Assisted (URSOA) methods, which were able to produce NCs with and without ligands. Although both synthesis methods used similar precursor composition and processing steps, the resulting crystal structures of NCs are different.

The surge in artificial intelligence applications calls for scalable, high-speed, and low-energy computation methods. Computing with photons is promising due to the intrinsic parallelism, high bandwidth, and low latency of photons. However, current photonic computing architectures are limited by the speed and energy consumption associated with electronic-to-optical data transfer, i.

Nitrogen-rich energetic salts have garnered growing interest owing to their flexible molecular frameworks and adjustable energetic behavior, highlighting the importance of investigating energetic ionic compounds. However, theoretical studies on the newly synthesized nitrate-based energetic salt, 2,6-diamino-1-hydroxy-9H-purine-1,7-diium nitrate, remain scarce. In this work, first-principles calculations are employed to comprehensively explore its structural, electronic, vibrational, and thermodynamic characteristics.

Pixelated detectors in scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) generate large volumes of data, often tens to hundreds of GB per scan. However, to make current advancements scalable and enable widespread adoption, it is essential to use the most efficient representation of an electron's information. Event-driven direct electron detectors, such as those based on the Timepix3 chip, offer significant potential for electron microscopy, particularly for low-dose experiments and real-time data processing.

Optical Diffraction Tomography (ODT) is a promising technique for three-dimensional imaging, but practical use demands rigorous robustness testing due to real-world noise factors. Despite the growing importance of machine learning safety, robustness in ODT remains underexplored. We propose the first comprehensive robustness testing protocol for ODT-based classifiers by simulating 16 corruption scenarios to create a corrupted dataset.
