Aim: To study the influence of HBcAg on the expression of transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-beta1) in liver tissue of low-grade chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients.
Methods: The expression of TGF-beta1 and HBcAg in liver samples from 93 low-grade CHB patients was detected by immunohistochemistry and valuated by semi-quantitative scoring.
Results: In the 93 low-grade CHB patients, HBcAg was expressed in cell plasma but not in the liver tissue. There was no significant difference between the two groups.
Conclusion: The expression of TGF-beta1 is not related with HBcAg expressed as plasma type in the tissues of low-grade CHB patients.

Food intake is a key regulator of the digestive system function; however, little is known about organ- and sex-specific differences in food-driven regulation. We placed male and female C57Bl/6 mice on time-restricted feeding (TRF), limiting access to food to an 8-hour window. Food was added either at dark (ZT12) or light (ZT0) onset for 14 days.

Background And Aims: Liver metastasis significantly contributes to poor survival in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC), posing therapeutic challenges due to limited understanding of its mechanisms. We aimed to identify a potential target critical for CRC liver metastasis.
Methods: We analyzed the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) and the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) databases and identified EphrinA3 (EFNA3) as a potential clinically relevant target.

Given the limited diagnostic technologies and treatment options available for lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) patients with liver metastases, it is crucial to identify potential genomic signatures associated with liver metastasis, which could significantly contribute to the development of improved diagnostic tools and treatment strategies for LUAD patients with liver metastases. In this study, we identified specific genetic alterations in tumor samples with liver metastases by targeted capture sequencing. The results showed that the significantly higher mutation frequencies of , and in LUAD patients with liver metastases and and mutations found in both tumor tissues and plasma samples from patients with liver metastases.

Therapeutic oligonucleotides (TOs) represent an emerging modality, which offers a promising alternative treatment option, particularly for intracellular targets. The two types of TOs, antisense oligonucleotides (ASO) and small interfering RNAs (siRNAs), distribute highly into tissues, especially into the liver and the kidneys. However, molecular processes at the cellular level such as the uptake into the cell, endosomal escape, binding to the target mRNA, and redistribution back to the systemic circulation are not well characterized because experimental data and assays are lacking.

Amyloidosis encompasses a spectrum of rare disorders characterized by extracellular amyloid deposition. Achieving an accurate early diagnosis of systemic amyloidosis necessitates biopsy-specific pathological evaluation. Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded liver biopsy specimens were examined using Congo red staining, electron microscopy, immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence, and Congo red-assisted laser microdissection with mass spectrometry (LMD/MS).
