Multi-parameter flow cytometry was used to monitor the formation of promegapoietin (PMP) inclusion bodies during a high cell density Escherichia coli fed-batch fermentation process. Inclusion bodies were labelled with a primary antibody and then with a secondary fluorescent antibody. Using this method it was possible to detect PMP inclusion body formation with a high specificity and it was possible to monitor the increased accumulation of the protein with process time (6-48 mg PMP/g CDW) whilst highlighting population heterogeneity.

Objectives: Many studies investigate the impact of assistive devices and technologies (AD/AT) on physical outcomes. The role of AD/ATs in everyday activities and participation of children with cerebral palsy (CP) has received much less attention. This review scopes the impact of AD/ATs by the activities and participation components of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) model.

Aims: Sarcoid myopathy (SaM) is characterised by granulomatous myositis (GM) and can overlap with inclusion body myositis (IBM), a late-onset chronic idiopathic inflammatory myopathy with a still enigmatic pathogenesis. As GM can occur in different clinical contexts, we aimed to examine the histomorphologic features and gene expression profiles in cases of definite SaM that may inform diagnostic and therapeutic considerations.
Methods: We performed a multidimensional characterisation of muscle biopsy specimens from patients with 'pure SaM' (n=17), SaM with concomitant IBM (SaM-IBM) (n=2), including histopathologic and ultrastructural analysis in addition to quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction.

Clitoral cyst is an epidermal inclusion cyst that results from invagination of the epidermis into the dermis or subcutaneous tissue. It commonly occurs following trauma from female genital mutilation (FGM), with presentation typically in childhood or the peripubertal period. Later, presentations often arise due to the asymptomatic nature of the condition and the associated stigma.

Study Design: Systematic review.
Purpose: As the number of elderly increases, age-related changes of body composition like osteoporosis and sarcopenic muscle changes contribute to higher morbidity, less quality of life and higher health care costs. Data on the effect of muscle atrophy on osteoporotic vertebral fractures is limited.

This experiment evaluated the effects of supplementing yeast culture ( ) on in situ ruminal degradability, rumen fermentation and microbiota responses of heifers consuming a forage-based diet. Twelve ruminally-cannulated Angus-influenced heifers were ranked by body weight ( 180 ± 4 kg) and assigned to 4 groups of 3 heifers each. Groups were enrolled in a replicated 3 × 3 Latin square design containing 3 periods of 21 d and 14-d washout intervals.
