Article Abstract

Experiments were carried out with cotton (Gossgpium hirsutum cv. Xuzhou 142) plants to study the effects of illumination with xenon and sulfur lamp on development of cotton plants. The results showed that, compared with xenon lamp, illumination with sulfur lamp inhibited excessive elongation of hypocotyl via promotion of longitudinal elongation of epidermis and cortex cells, increased the numbers of branches, buds and bolls significantly. It suggested that illumination with sulfur lamp rendered cotton photomorphogenesis more favorable to yield formation.

Aim: Excessive proliferation ofDemodex folliculorumhas been implicated in blepharitis and other inflammatory ocular conditions. Given the growing interest in safer and more effective alternatives to current treatments, this study aimed to evaluate and compare the in vitro acaricidal efficacy of lemongrass oil, tea tree oil (TTO), ivermectin 1%, lotilaner ophthalmic solution 0.25% (Xdemvy), lime sulfur, and olive oil (used as a negative control) againstDemodex folliculorum.

Biodiesel stability is vital for performance, storage, and environmental benefits. However, oxidation and degradation can reduce its quality, leading to engine issues and reduced efficiency. Antioxidants are crucial to prevent these problems, but their detection remains a challenge.

β-glucosidase (β-glu) play a critical role in many biological processes in microorganisms, plants and animals. Herein, we established a sensitive dual-channel sensing platform for β-glu determination based on a bifunctional nanoprobe composed of copper‑cobalt‑sulfur bimetallic nanoflowers decorated with fluorescent carbon dots (PCDs@CuCoS NFs). This nanoprobe displayed both remarkable fluorescence properties and peroxidase (POD)-mimicking activity, enabling simultaneous fluorescent and colorimetric sensing of β-glu.

Accurate determination and rapid degradation of organic pollutants are essential works in environmental improvement. Herein, the CuCoS@CoO heterojunction with fascinating 2D-on-3D hierarchical nanoflowers architecture and highly distributed interface sites were successfully synthesized by CuCo-LDH topological transformation combine with in situ exterior sulfurization strategy. The 2D-on-3D nanoflowers architecture could improve light harvesting ability, provide large surface area, open channels and abundant edge sites.

The redox non-innocent nature of dithiolene ligands is well known for stabilizing high-valent metal ions and facilitating proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) processes. Until now, proton reactivity at the dithiolene site has been primarily associated with low-valent metal centers, as high-valent metal-dithiolene complexes were not considered viable for such reactivity. This study introduces high-valent bis(dithiolene) tungsten (W)-oxo complexes featuring hydrogen-bonding interactions, unveiling a novel proton reduction mechanism mediated by the dithiolene moiety.
