We report a rare case of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with an unusual neuroendocrine component. During a follow-up study for chronic hepatitis C in a 71-year-old man, a nodular lesion showed rapid growth from 1 cm to 4 cm in diameter within 3 months. Histologically, the tumor was consistent with moderately differentiated HCC, but was intermingled with nests of small round cells with scarce cytoplasm, which resembled those found in small cell carcinoma. This population formed small solid nests among the trabecular structures. Immunohistochemically the small round cell component of the tumor was strongly positive for neuron-specific enolase (NSE), chromogranin A and synaptophysin, but hepatocyte paraffin-1 (HP-1) and alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) were negative. In contrast, HP-1 and AFP were positive, and NSE, chromogranin A and synaptophysin were negative in moderately differentiated HCC tissues. Electron microscopy revealed many intracytoplasmic neurosecretory granules in the small round cells. The labeling indexes of p53 and Ki-67 were significantly higher in the small round cell component than in the moderately differentiated HCC component. Overall, we conclude that this nodule was HCC with neuroendocrine differentiation.

Objectives: We propose a YOLOv11-TDSP model for improving the accuracy of dental abnormality detection on panoramic oral X-ray images.
Methods: The SHSA single-head attention mechanism was integrated with C2PSA in the backbone layer to construct a new C2PSA_SHSA attention mechanism. The computational redundancy was reduced by applying single-head attention to some input channels to enhance the efficiency and detection accuracy of the model.

Trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) is a HER2-targeting antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) with efficacy across adult cancers exhibiting variable HER2 expression. Prior studies demonstrating HER2 expression in osteosarcoma (OS) motivated a clinical trial of T-DXd in pediatric and adolescent/young adults with OS but was terminated early for inactivity. We evaluated the activity of T-DXd using OS patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models and found a 22% objective response rate despite no detectable HER2 expression across PDXs tested.

Hepatozoon felis is a protozoan parasite reported in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas with infection rates ranging from 4% to 30% in domestic cats in Mediterranean countries. Although the parasite was described in 1908, its arthropod vector has not been reported to date. Ticks removed from cats were dissected to prepare hemocoel smears with the aim of identifying the sporogonic life stages of H.

Although there has been increasing interest in the study of postpartum anxiety in recent years, it remains an emerging field. We present a state-of-the-art review of postpartum anxiety, with the aim of comprehensively surveying postpartum anxiety literature and presenting a synthesis of the complete body of knowledge around postpartum anxiety. We found an estimated global prevalence of 12·3% for postpartum anxiety.
