An efficient, one-pot synthesis of angular and linear dihydropyranocoumarins, along with C-6 and C-8 prenylated coumarins is reported. These compounds, together with single- and furanocoumarins, were tested for their potential antifungal activity against the phytopathogen Botrytis cinerea Pers ex Fr. The results show that furanocoumarins may be able to control the fungus B cinerea.

The stems of , an important vegetable in China, are targeted by the pathogen , triggering a response through the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signalling pathway. To investigate the characteristics and the role of MAPK gene family in the biological stress response, a bioinformatics-based analysis was performed, and the expression patterns of and MAPK-infection pathway-related genes were detected in male plants inoculated with . Twenty-five were identified and divided into four subgroups A, B, C and D: carried a conserved TEY motif, while D had a conserved TDY motif.

Fungal diseases in agricultural crops cause economic losses, with chemical control being the conventional method to manage them. However, this approach negatively impacts both the environment and human health. This study focused on endophytic fungi isolated from the roots of Ceratozamia mirandae in the Mexican locality of Juan Sabines (Villa Corzo, Chiapas).

Vitamin A deficiency is one of the most severe micronutrient-related health issues worldwide. Tomatoes, a widely cultivated crop for their adaptability, nutritional value, and lycopene content (a beta-carotene precursor), are ideal candidates for biofortification. In this study, CRISPR-mediated knockout mutants (cr-SlLCYe and cr-SlBCH) were generated to enhance the precursor supply to the β-carotene biosynthetic pathway and reduce its degradation.
