The crystal structure of an RNA dodecamer, r(GAUCACUUCGGU), was solved at 2.6 A resolution by the molecular-replacement method and refined to an R(work) of 18.8% (R(free) = 22.8%) using 2494 reflections. The dodecamer crystallized in the monoclinic space group C2, with unit-cell parameters a = 71.34, b = 39.98, c = 32.47 A, beta = 104.7 degrees and two independent strands in the asymmetric unit. The dodecamer adopts an octamer duplex structure with four 5'-overhang residues (G1A2U3C4), which form Watson-Crick base pairs with another four 5'-overhang residues of a symmetry-related duplex. The octamer duplex (ACUUCGGU) contains at its center four mismatched base pairs flanked by two Watson-Crick base pairs. The mismatched bases form two G.U wobble base pairs at the ends and two U.C base pairs at the center, with one base-base hydrogen bond N4(C).O4(U) and a water bridge connecting the N(3) of the cytosine and uridine. The present study reinforces the concept of the stability of the conformation of UUCG in RNA double-helical structures.

Hayata 1916 is a unique bamboo species endemic to Taiwan, typically found at elevations ranging from 500 to 1,500 meters. This study provides a detailed analysis of the complete chloroplast genome of for the first time. The genome spans 139,664 base pairs (bp) and consists of a large single-copy (LSC) region of 83,192 bp, a small single-copy (SSC) region of 12,869 bp, and two inverted repeat (IR) regions, each 21,798 bp in length.

The study of electrochemical oxidations has wide-ranging implications, from the development of new electrocatalysts for fuel cells for energy conversion, to the synthesis of fine chemicals. 2,2,6,6-Tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (TEMPO) has been used for decades as a sustainable, metal-free mediator for chemical oxidations and is now being used for electrochemical oxidations. We describe here a novel approach to TEMPO-mediated electrooxidations, in which the chemical input and waste generated during electrooxidations of alcohols are minimized by using a multifunctional room temperature ionic liquid (RTIL) to facilitate flow electrosynthesis.

Objectives: Lymph node metastasis (LNM) is an important factor affecting the stage and prognosis of patients with lung adenocarcinoma. The purpose of this study is to explore the predictive value of the stacking ensemble learning model based on F-FDG PET/CT radiomic features and clinical risk factors for LNM in lung adenocarcinoma, and elucidate the biological basis of predictive features through pathological analysis.
Methods: Ninety patients diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma who underwent PET/CT were retrospectively analyzed and randomly divided into the training and testing sets in a 7:3 ratio.

Understanding the active sites of copper (Cu)-based catalysts toward CO is a prerequisite for improving their rational design. The reactivity of copper oxide cluster anions CuO ( = 3-9) and bare copper cluster anions Cu toward CO has been investigated at room temperature by employing mass spectrometry combined with density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Only adsorption products are observed for the reaction of CuO with CO.
