Article Abstract
Complex composite odontoma is a rare benign odontogenic hamartoma seen in association with a primary tooth. Although it is seen most frequently between 10-19 years of age, here we present a lesion of unusual size in the mandible of a 6-year-old boy and report its clinical, radiographic, CT and histologic findings. Also, we discuss the value of three dimensional images.

Brillouin microscopy allows mechanical investigations of biological materials at the subcellular level and can be integrated with Raman spectroscopy for simultaneous chemical mapping, thus enabling a more comprehensive interpretation of biomechanics. The present study investigates different in vitro glioblastoma models using a combination of Brillouin and Raman microspectroscopy. Spheroids of the U87-MG cell line and two patient-derived cell lines as well as patient-derived organoids were used.

In the cardiovascular system, elastic fibres exert a fundamental role providing the long-range elasticity required for physiological functions. Elastic fibres are complex in composition and structure containing, in addition to elastin, a wide range of matrix components, such as microfibrillar proteins, calcium-binding proteins and glycosaminoglycans. Changes in composition and/or structure can affect the biomechanics of the tissue as well as the intrinsic affinity of elastin for Ca ions.
