Article Abstract

A variety of manganese salts ranging from completely soluble and ionized to insoluble compounds have been subjected to ultrasonic radiation in aqueous medium at pH approximately 8.3. All of the manganese salts yielded a product identified as nanoparticles of Mn(3)O(4), expect for MnCO(3), which yields of mixture of phases. The characteristics of the products obtained are compared with those obtained under vigorous stirring conditions. The shapes of nanocrystals varied from sharp-edged crystals to smooth particles.

Produced water (PW) generated from wells during crude oil production contains various inorganic chemicals some of which are considered critical minerals (CM). Through fluid characterization studies of 33 produced water samples in the Bakken Petroleum System of North Dakota, the Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC) has quantified several CM, including barium, lithium, zinc, magnesium, manganese, and rubidium, at more than 95% frequency with cesium in 9% of the samples. The aim of this study was to test various carbon materials to ascertain their ability to remove these CM from the PW.

A 10-day study was carried out to evaluated the effects of organic (zinc proteinate, ZnPro) and inorganic (zinc sulfate, ZnSO₄•H₂O) zinc supplementation on growth, tissue mineralization, mineral excretion, and antioxidant responses in broiler chickens. Male Cobb 500 chicks were allotted into 10 treatments, and ten replicates per treatment with five birds per replicate in a 2 × 5 factorial design. Dietary Zn was supplied at 0, 19, 38, 57, and 76 mg/kg.

The reaction of AgSbF with the cymantrenyl hydrosilanes [Mn{CBr(SiMeH)}(CO)] ( = 1-5) gives the corresponding fluorosilanes. With the ferrocenylhydrosilanes [Fe{CBr(SiMeH)}(CH)] fluorination and oxidation to give the ferricenium salts [Fe{CBr(SiMeF)}(CH)]SbF ( = 1-5) occurs. Reaction of the latter with cobaltocene gives the corresponding neutral fluorosilanes.

Barium slag (BS) is a hazardous waste generated during the industrial production process of barium salts, posing serious threats to ecological environment due to its high soluble Ba concentration and high pH. The development of efficient harmless treatment technologies is imperative for BS management. In this study, the Ba dissolution behavior of BS implied that washing with 20 rounds of water could reduce the soluble Ba but cannot achieve harmless treatment.

Bis(tri-phenyl-sulfonium) tetra-chlorido-manganate(II), (CHS)[MnCl] (), tri-phenyl-sulfonium tetra-chlorido-ferrate(III), (CHS)[FeCl] (), and bis-(tri-phenyl-sulfonium) tetra-chlorido-cobaltate(II), (CHS)[CoCl] (), crystallize in the monoclinic space groups 2/ [() and ()] and 2/ [()]. Compounds () and () each contain two crystallographically independent tri-phenyl-sulfonium (TPS) cations in the asymmetric unit, whereas () has one. In all three compounds, the sulfonium centers adopt distorted trigonal-pyramidal geometries, with S-C bond lengths falling roughly in the 1.
