The gut microbiome has emerged as a potential factor in cancer pathogenesis, but its role in non-functioning pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (NF-PitNETs) remains unclear. This study aimed to elucidate gut microbiome and metabolomic alterations in NF-PitNETs by comparing microbial diversity, pathogenic bacteria, and serum metabolomic profiles between NF-PitNET patients and healthy controls. The gut microbiome was assessed through 16S rRNA sequencing, while serum metabolomics was analyzed using mass spectrometry.

Quasi-one-dimensional (quasi-1D) transition metal chalcogenides (TMCs), a subclass of low-dimensional materials, have attracted significant attention due to their unique optical and electronic properties, making them promising candidates for nonlinear photonics. In this work, NbTe, a quasi-1D transition metal tetrachalcogenide, was synthesized and employed for the first time as a broadband saturable absorber (SA) for pulsed laser applications. The nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of NbTe were systematically characterized at 1.

Bulb physiological dormancy significantly limits the development and utilization of Cardiocrinum giganteum (Wall.) Makino, a valuable medicinal, edible and ornamental plant. In the current study, to break the dormancy and reveal its mechanism, metabolome and transcriptome analyses using bulbs stored at 4°C for 0, 30, and 60 days (d) were conducted.

Abscisic acid (ABA) plays primary regulatory roles in abiotic stress tolerance and seed germination. Here, we report a unique novel Arabidopsis abscisic acid-insensitive mutant, abr (abscisic acid resistance), which was able to germinate in medium containing high ABA concentrations and tolerant to abiotic stress tolerance. We observed that abr mutant accumulated more anthocyanins by ABA treatment than did the wild type (WT).
