Early detection of sexually transmitted infections from skin lesions with deep learning: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are a substantial public health concern. We aimed to evaluate the accuracy and applicability of deep learning algorithms in the early detection of STIs from skin lesions.

Methods: In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we searched PubMed, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Xplore, Web of Science, Scopus for studies employing deep learning for classifying clinical skin lesion images of STIs published between Jan 1, 2010, and Dec 31, 2023.

Assessing the impact of environmental laws and technological advancements on carbon dioxide mitigation in China's mining industry.

The present research examines the relationship between China's mineral extraction-related carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and factors such as the legislative law, openness, green economic growth, FDI, technology innovation, and green patent from 1989 to 2020. Depending on statistics from the China Statistical Yearbook as well as other global databases, it finds the legislative law and openness contribute to sustainable mineral extracting in China. The efficacies of legislative laws can demonstrate by the substantial decreases in CO2 that occur in response to a one percent rise in these variables.

Depression Severity Mediates the Relationships Between Parenting Styles, Peer-Victimization and Mobile Phone Dependence in Adolescents.

Purpose: Negative parenting styles, peer victimization, and mobile phone dependence (MPD) are prevalent public health problems among adolescents. Parenting styles and peer victimization were reported to affect MPD, but their interaction and the mechanism underlying this association still need to be explored. This study aimed to examine how these factors affect MPD in adolescents with depression.
