Background: With regard to head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), its occurrence and advancement are controlled by genetic and epigenetic anomalies. PIWI-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) are recognized with significance in tumor, but the precise molecular mechanisms of piRNAs in HNSCC largely remain undisclosed.

Methods: Differentially expressed piRNAs were identified by RNA sequencing.

Case Report: Persistent left superior vena cava: an incidental finding during peripherally inserted central catheter placement.

Background: A peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) is a specialized type of long-term intravenous catheter commonly employed for administering chemotherapy. The operation and management of PICC should exclusively be carried out by trained healthcare professionals equipped with the requisite knowledge of anatomy, procedural technique and patient care. Persistent left superior vena cava (PLSVC) is a vascular malformation which is typically asymptomatic in clinical presentation, almost always identified during invasive surgery or imaging examinations.

Persistent hiccup caused by peripherally inserted central catheter migration.

A peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) provides an important access for patients requiring prolonged intravenous infusion. However, intravascular migration and subsequent malposition of a PICC may be caused by its flexibility and thinness and by changes in intrathoracic pressure and body position. In this report, we describe one case of persistent hiccup whose PICC migrated to and was bent and folded in the right subclavian vein.
