Antigen-mediated aggregation of immunoglobulin E (IgE) bound to the high-affinity IgE receptor (FcεRI) initiates mast cell activation and allergic inflammation. Here, we investigated the role of ubiquitin-specific protease 5 (USP5) in IgE-mediated mast cell activation and its regulation of FcεRIγ stability. We found that USP5 knockdown inhibited the IgE-induced release of β-hexosaminidase and histamine from mast cells and attenuated allergic inflammation in mice.

A palladium-catalyzed dearomative 1,6-enyne cycloisomerization of C2- or C3-alkyne-tethered benzofurans and C2-alkyne-tethered indoles has been developed a 6- cyclization. By employing Pd(OAc) as a catalyst, an array of spiro dihydrobenzofurans and indolines were afforded in air with moderate to high yields. This protocol features 100% atom economy and high regioselectivity.

Mast cells (MCs) are therapeutic targets for high-affinity IgE Fc receptors (FcεRI)-mediated allergic responses. Deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs), including ubiquitin-specific protease 13 (USP13), are involved in multiple inflammatory processes. This study aims to reveal USP13's role in FcεRI-mediated MC activation and its underlying mechanisms.

Activation of immunoglobulin E (IgE)-associated mast cells (MCs) triggers the onset of pro-inflammatory signals associated with type I allergic diseases. Although histone acetylation changes have been associated with inflammatory diseases, the impact of lysine-acetyltransferase (KAT) inhibitors on IgE-mediated MCs function is unclear. Potential anti-allergic effects of the KAT6A inhibitor WM-1119 on IgE-mediated MCs activation and allergic inflammation were examined in this study.

The presence of burrowing mammals can have extensive effects on plants and soils, creating bare soil patches in alpine meadows and potentially altering plant-soil carbon (C) and nitrogen (N). This study focuses on the plateau pika () to examine the responses of plant-soil C and N to a small burrowing mammal from quadrat scale to plot scale. The density of active burrow entrances in disturbed plots was used as an indicator of the disturbance intensity of plateau pikas.

A series of 3d-4f heterobinuclear complexes were constructed by employing the 2,2'-bipy (2,2'-bipy=2,2'-bipyridine) ligand and corresponding metal ions (M(II)/Ln(III), M=Co(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II); Ln(III)=Nd(III), Sm(III), Eu(III) and Tb(III)). Elemental analyses, IR, UV-vis-NIR spectra, PXRD and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveal that complexes 1-4, 5-8, and 9-12 are isomorphous, respectively. The zero-dimensional structures are further connected to 2D or 3D supramolecular network structures via extensive intermolecular hydrogen bonds.

Article Synopsis
  • Three new transition-metal coordination complexes, [Co(HL)], [Ni(HL)], and [Ni(HL)·(HL)·(OH)·(Ac)·H2O], were synthesized using specific ligands (H L).
  • They were characterized using various methods like IR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction, revealing similar structures for complexes 1 and 2, while complex 3 has a more complex trinuclear structure.
  • The photocatalytic activities of all complexes were tested, showing that complex 3 had the highest photocatalytic activity.

Two novel compounds [Zn(IAA)2(phen) (HIAA=indole-3-acetic acid, phen=1,10-phenanthroline) (1) and [Zn(IAA)2(4,4'-bipy)](4,4'-bipy=4,4'-bipyridine) (2) were synthesized by the reaction of Zn(Ac)2·2H2O or Zn(SO4)·4H2O as a metal source, HIAA as the first ligand and phen or 4,4'-bipy as the second ligand in the system of methanol or the mixed solution of methanol and water at room temperature. They were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, UV-vis spectra and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Structural analysis shows that the center metal Zn(II) for the compound 1 is four-coordinated, displaying a distorted tetrahedron; the metal center coordinated model for compound 2 is similar to that of 1, in which the structural unit of Zn(IAA)2 was connected by bridging the 4, 4'- bipy ligand to form an infinite 1D chain.
