Background: Gallbladder cancer (GBC) was once considered a contraindication for laparoscopic surgery, but it is becoming more common to use laparoscopic surgery for GBC treatment. The aim of this study was to analyze the long- and short-term outcomes of patients with more advanced T-staged GBC treated with curative intent as defined by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) after laparoscopic resection (LR) versus open resection (OR).

Methods: A multicenter database was used to select consecutive GBC patients treated with curative-intent resection as defined by the NCCN between 2016 and 2020.

Background: The prognostic value of carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) is known to be affected by elevated bilirubin levels in patients with gallbladder carcinoma (GBC). The clinical significance of changes in the ratio of CA19-9 levels to total bilirubin (TB) levels in patients with GBC after curative-intent resection remains unknown. The aim of this study was to determine the prognostic value of changes in preoperative and postoperative CA19-9/TB ratio in these patients.

The mechanism and origins of site-selectivity of Rh(-tfpttl)-catalyzed C()-H bond aminations were studied using density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The synergistic combination of the dirhodium complex Rh(-tfpttl) with -butylphenol sulfamate TBPhsNH composes a pocket that can access both tertiary and benzylic C-H bonds. The nonactivated tertiary C-H bond was selectively aminated in the presence of an electronically activated benzylic C-H bond.

Refractory ischemic ulcers that occur in patients with diabetes present a major clinical challenge. Embryonic artery cluster of differentiation 133 cells (EACCs) may promote the healing of diabetic ulcers; however, the high glucose environment in the diabetic ulcers decreases the survival rate of transplanted EACCs and inhibit their biological function. Furthermore, microcirculation in diabetic ischemic ulcers is impaired, which inhibits the beneficial effect of EACCs.
