Catalytic hydroboration of amides is highly important because the resultant amines are commonly found in natural products, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, dyes, and other applications. In comparison to the conventional reduction of amides using (over)stoichiometric reductants, hydroboration of amides using magnesium compounds represents a green and sustainable approach because magnesium is both Earth abundant and environmentally benign. However, there is only one report on magnesium-catalyzed deoxygenative hydroboration of secondary and tertiary amides.

Realizing plasmonic nanogaps with a refractive index ( = 1) environment in metallic nanoparticle (NP) structures is highly attractive for a wide range of applications. So far in self-assembly-based approaches, without surface functionalization of metallic NPs, achieving such extremely small nanogaps is challenging. Surface functionalization introduces changes in the refractive index at nanogaps, which in turn deteriorates the desired plasmonic properties.

However, conventional colorimetric sensor systems rely on RGB sensors, which cannot capture the complete spectral response of the system. This limitation can degrade the performance of machine learning analysis, leading to inaccurate identification of chemicals with similar functional groups.

Metabolome analysis has gained widespread application in disease diagnosis owing to its ability to provide comprehensive information, including disease phenotypes. In this study, we utilized 3D superstructures fabricated through evaporation-induced microprinting to analyze the metabolome for glaucoma diagnosis. 3D superstructures offer the following advantages: high hotspot density per unit volume of the structure extending from two to three dimensions, excellent signal repeatability due to the reproducibility and defect tolerance of 3D printing, and high thermal stability due to the PVP-enclosed capsule form.
