Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) and eosinophilic GPA (EGPA) are distinct yet overlapping forms of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis, each with unique clinical features. GPA typically involves necrotizing granulomatous inflammation of the upper and lower respiratory tracts and is strongly associated with cytoplasmic ANCA (c-ANCA) and PR3-ANCA positivity, while EGPA is characterized by eosinophilia, asthma, and vasculitis. Rare cases of GPA can present with eosinophilia, complicating the distinction between these entities and raising the possibility of a GPA/EGPA overlap syndrome.

Background: The utility of polymer-permanent, polymer-absorbable, and polymer-free drug-eluting stents (DES) in the context of different eluting drugs in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) remains controversial.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of different DES strategies in post-PCI patients.

Methods: Digital databases were searched to select all randomized control trials.

Background: The relative accuracy of pulsatile photoplethysmography applications (PPG) or handheld (HH) devices compared with the gold standard 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) for the diagnosis of atrial fibrillation is unknown.

Methods: Digital databases were searched to identify relevant articles. Raw data were pooled using a bivariate model to calculate diagnostic accuracy measures and estimate Hierarchical Summary Receiver Operating Characteristic (HSROC).

BACKGROUND Intussusception is a common phenomenon in children, but it is rare in adults. In the pediatric population, the presentation is commonly primary, without a lead point. However, up to 90% of intussusception cases arise due to a secondary cause - a pathological lead point - which the most common etiology in adults being malignancy.

Background As transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) technology expands to healthy and lower-risk populations, the burden and predictors of procedure-related complications including the need for permanent pacemaker (PPM) implantation needs to be identified. Methods and Results Digital databases were systematically searched to identify studies reporting the incidence of PPM implantation after TAVR. A random- and fixed-effects model was used to calculate unadjusted odds ratios (OR) for all predictors.

Fungal endocarditis, specifically from species, is a rare but serious infection with a high mortality rate. Most cases occur in bioprosthetic or mechanical valves and are uncommon in native, structurally normal valves. When endocarditis is detected and appropriate treatment is initiated earlier, there is an improvement in mortality.

Glucocorticoid excess is an under-recognised cause of cardiovascular adverse effects. The sources can be either endogenous (Cushing's syndrome) or exogenous (Anabolic steroid abuse). Cardiovascular complications due to excess glucocorticoid includes hypertension, left ventricular hypertrophy, myocardial infarction, and heart failure.

Background: Damage control resuscitation forms the cornerstone of management in trauma surgery. Several blood products have been widely used for preoperative transfusions prior to emergency surgeries and for hemorrhage control in trauma. Prothrombin complex concentrate (PCC) is now being introduced as an essential component of damage control resuscitation.

Dronedarone, a drug similar in chemical properties to amiodarone, was designed to have similar pharmacodynamic properties as amiodarone with fewer side effects. Although there have been cases of chronic liver enzyme elevation with dronedarone, only a few cases have been reported in literature where it has led to rapid onset of liver failure. We present the case of an 86-year-old male who developed acute liver failure concomitantly with acute kidney failure after he was started on dronedarone therapy.

Gastrointestinal (GI) xanthomas are rare entities found incidentally on endoscopy. There have been only a few cases where they presented with symptoms of bowel obstruction. We present a case of an 89-year-old woman with a history of short-gut syndrome due to partial colectomy who had multiple admissions with recurrent nausea/vomiting, abdominal distension, and bloating.

Background The prevalence of chronic malnutrition and its associated morbid outcomes has been a significant cause of health loss globally, affecting millions of children hampering their mental, physical, social, and immune system development. World Health Organization's (WHO) recommendations presenting infant feeding guidelines have largely controlled this burden. However, developing countries including Pakistan have failed to promote these guidelines and still succumb to a huge burden of morbidity and mortality secondary to malnourishment among infants.

'Intussusception' means invaginating or telescoping and is caused by any condition that disrupts the normal physiological mechanism of intestinal peristalsis. Intussusception is rare in adults with an incidence of two to three cases per population of 1,000,000 annually. The most common cause of intussusception in adults is a neoplasm.
