Advancements in Modified Electrodes with Electrochemical Sensors for Detecting Acetaminophen and Caffeine: An Update.

Acetaminophen and caffeine are analgesic or psychoactive drugs in human life that plays a major role in food and medicinal chemistry. Caffeine increases the efficacy of acetaminophen by improving its absorption, thereby prolonging analgesic action. Caffeine might exacerbate symptoms of anxiety if being prone to them.

A cruciate suture technique for rotator cuff repair.

Purpose: Re-establishment of the native footprint during rotator cuff repair is important for maximizing healing potential and fixation strength. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the contact area, contact pressure, stiffness and tensile strength of a new single-row cruciate suture repair and to compare these results to those of the Mason-Allen, double-row and transosseous repairs.

Methods: Infraspinatus tendons from fifty-six lamb shoulders were harvested and randomly assigned to cruciate suture, Mason-Allen, double-row and transosseous repair groups.

How does rectus femoris fibrosis affect gait?

We report on a female patient with stiff-knee gait resulting from rectus femoris fibrosis, following multiple injections into the quadriceps musculature. Treatment planning and outcome were aided by instrumented three-dimensional gait analysis. One year after surgery, improvements were found in walking speed, step length, anterior pelvic tilt, knee flexion in swing, and ankle dorsiflexion in swing.
