Aim: To describe the clinical manifestations, imaging features and surgical treatments in 5 cases of extraocular muscle (EOM) dysplasia presenting as orbital space-occupying lesions (SOL).
Methods: Records from the 5 cases with EOM dysplasia between 2004 and 2016 were retrospectively reviewed and clinical data were recorded including family history, age at onset, age at surgery, visual acuity, cycloplegic refraction, ocular alignment and motility, stereoacuity, exophthalmos, anterior segment and fundus, orbital computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan, surgical methods and final outcomes.
Results: All 5 cases (1 male, 4 females) were unilateral (3 right, 2 left eyes).

Aim: To investigate the potential mechanisms of A-V pattern and evaluate the surgical outcomes used in the treatment of sensory exotropia.
Methods: The medical records of patients with sensory A-V pattern exotropia who underwent strabismus surgery between May 2014 to June 2019 was retrospectively reviewed. The control group included sensory exotropia patients without A-V pattern and concomitant A-V pattern exotropia patients with normal vision who undergone strabismus surgery over this same time period.
Objective: To explore the possible effects and mechanism of Zhizhu Decoction (ZZD) on the pathophysiology of slow transit constipation (STC).
Methods: A total of 54 C57BL/6 mice was randomly divided into the following 6 groups by a random number table, including control, STC model (model), positive control, and low-, medium- and high-doses ZZD treatment groups (5, 10, 20 g/kg, namely L, M-, and H-ZZD, respectively), 9 mice in each group. Following 2-week treatment, intestinal transport rate (ITR) and fecal water content were determined, and blood and colon tissue samples were collected.
Slow transit constipation (STC) is becoming a common and frequently occurring disease in today's society, and it is necessary to explore the safe and effective treatment of STC. Our study aimed to investigate whether the laxative effect of Maren pills (MRW) is associated with the regulation of intestinal microflora and intestinal metabolism in the colon. Loperamide hydrochloride-induced STC rats received MRW intragastrically for two consecutive weeks to evaluate the laxative effect of MRW involving the regulation of intestinal microflora, intestinal metabolism, and 5-HT signaling pathway.
