Melanoma, the most fatal form of skin cancer, often becomes resistant to the current therapeutic approaches in most patients. To explore new treatment options, fused thiazole derivatives were synthesized, and several of these compounds demonstrated potent anti-melanoma activity both and . These compounds exhibited significant cytotoxicity against melanoma cell lines at low concentrations.

Background: The discovery of viruses in small mammalian populations, particularly rodents, has expanded the family Paramyxoviridae. The overlap in habitats between rodents and humans increases the risk of zoonotic events, underscoring the importance of active surveillance. Rodent species, such as Apodemus agrarius, are natural hosts for Paramyxoviridae in the Republic of Korea (ROK).

An efficient synthesis of 3-amino-2-formyl-functionalized benzothiophenes by a domino reaction protocol and their use to synthesize a library of novel scaffolds have been reported. Reactions of ketones and 1,3-diones with these amino aldehyde derivatives formed a series of benzothieno[3,2-]pyridine and 3,4-dihydro-2-benzothiopheno[3,2-]quinolin-1-one, respectively. A plausible mechanism for the formation of fused pyridine derivatives by the Friedlander reaction has been elucidated by density functional theory (DFT) calculations.

Paramyxoviruses, negative-sense single-stranded RNA viruses, pose a critical threat to human public health. Currently, 78 species, 17 genera, and 4 subfamilies of paramyxoviruses are harbored by multiple natural reservoirs, including rodents, bats, birds, reptiles, and fish. Henipaviruses are critical zoonotic pathogens that cause severe acute respiratory distress and neurological diseases in humans.

Paramyxoviruses harbored by multiple natural reservoirs pose a potential threat to public health. Jeilongvirus has been proposed as a novel paramyxovirus genus found in rodents, bats, and cats. Paramyxovirus RNA was detected in 108/824 (13.

Whole-genome sequencing of infectious agents enables the identification and characterization of emerging viruses. The MinION device is a portable sequencer that allows real-time sequencing in fields or hospitals. (Hantaan virus, HTNV), harbored by , causes hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) and poses a critical public health threat worldwide.

The virus behind the current pandemic, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is responsible for the etiology of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and poses a critical public health threat worldwide. Effective therapeutics and vaccines against multiple coronaviruses remain unavailable. Single-chain variable fragment (scFv), a recombinant antibody, exhibits broad-spectrum antiviral activity against DNA and RNA viruses owing to its nucleic acid-hydrolyzing property.
