Background: The risk of developing atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) varies among individuals and is related to a variety of lifestyle factors in addition to the presence of chronic diseases.

Objective: We aimed to assess the predictive accuracy of machine learning (ML) models incorporating lifestyle risk behaviors for ASCVD risk using the Korean nationwide database.

Methods: Using data from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 5 ML algorithms were used for the prediction of high ASCVD risk: logistic regression (LR), support vector machine, random forest, extreme gradient boosting, and light gradient boosting models.

Treatment effects of combined transcranial direct current stimulation and counseling for the treatment of chronic tinnitus.

Aims: We aimed to evaluate the comparative efficacy of three treatment modalities for chronic tinnitus: TRT-based directive counseling, transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), and their combination. Primary endpoints were changes in tinnitus severity and psychological distress; secondary endpoints included treatment response rates and anxiety reduction.

Methods: Forty-one patients with chronic tinnitus lasting 3 months or more of duration were enrolled who were treated at a tertiary hospital between November 2021 and December 2023.

We aimed to evaluate the impact of short-term tinnitus treatment on cognitive function and identify the effects of various treatment combinations on cognitive and tinnitus outcomes. A non-randomized prospective study was conducted with 32 tinnitus patients at a tertiary university hospital between May 2022 and May 2024. Patients received treatments, including neuromodulation, diuretics, gabapentin, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI), anxiolytics, muscle relaxants, hearing aids, and counseling.

Background: DNA methylation markers are considered robust diagnostic features in various cancer types, as epigenetic marks are commonly altered during cancer progression. Differentiation between benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and early-stage prostate cancer (PCa) is clinically difficult, relying on the information of the patient's symptoms or levels of prostate-specific antigen.

The aim of our randomized controlled trial will be to compare the safety and efficacy of interlaminar full-endoscopic laminectomy and open decompressive laminectomy.
