Multi-epitope ligand-conjugated nanoparticles for tumor neoantigen targeting: advancing molecular precision in cancer immunotherapy.

Tumor neoantigens, derived from somatic mutations unique to cancer cells, represent a novel class of highly specific targets for precision immunotherapy. Their absence in normal tissues minimizes the risk of central tolerance, offering the potential to elicit tumor-specific immune responses. MEL-NPs are engineered to display multiple neoepitope peptides on their surface as antigenic cargo while incorporating targeting ligands-such as antibodies or aptamers-that promote specific uptake by dendritic cells.

Spatial and vertical distribution of uranium and associated hydro-geochemistry, chemometric statistics in groundwater of Mansa and Barnala districts, Punjab, India.

The current study aimed to elucidate the spatial and vertical distribution of uranium in groundwater of Mansa and Barnala districts of South-West Punjab, along with associated physico-geochemical properties and related pathfinder elements, employing hydro-geochemical methodologies and chemometric statistics. In this study, high prevalence (surpassing WHO limit 30 μg/L in drinking water) of uranium was observed in 67 % and 50 % of groundwater samples from Mansa and Barnala districts, respectively. Substantial fluoride contamination followed by nitrates was found in groundwater of both districts.

Background: Tibiotalocalcaneal arthrodesis (TTCA) has been an effective surgical treatment for ankle and hindfoot deformity correction and pain relief. This paper presents the results of tibiotalocalcaneal arthrodesis using a hindfoot nail and bone grafting.

Material And Methods: From November 2016 to December 2019, 15 patients underwent tibiotalocalcaneal arthrodesis with a hindfoot nail for treatment of advanced ankle and hindfoot disease.

Management of recurrent end-stage achalasia with robotic-assisted esophagectomy: a case report and literature review.

Introduction And Importance: Achalasia, an uncommon esophageal motility disorder, presents therapeutic challenges, especially in refractory cases with a history of multiple surgeries. Here, we present a complex case illustrating the dilemmas and multidisciplinary approach required in managing such patients. This case underscores the relevance of newer techniques like robotic-assisted esophagectomy in refractory achalasia management.

Pyrexia of Unknown Origin: A Report of Two Cases.

Pyrexia of unknown origin (PUO) is a prolonged fever lasting several weeks without an identifiable cause despite extensive medical evaluation. Many a time, its cause remains largely unknown even after collecting a detailed medical history, conducting comprehensive physical assessments, and performing various standard laboratory tests and imaging procedures. This case series presents two cases of pyrexia of unknown origin.

Glenohumeral Arthrodesis Using Pelvic Reconstruction Plates: a Series of 15 Patients.

Background: Glenohumeral joint arthrodesis has become a rare entity due to the introduction of shoulder arthroplasty. It is an excellent salvage procedure for patients with severe shoulder dysfunction, with limited treatment options, indicated for brachial plexus injury, tumour resection, chronic infection, failed prosthetic arthroplasty, or pseudoparalysis of the shoulder due to combined rotator cuff and deltoid deficiency. Shoulder arthrodesis relieves the patient of pain and gives a decent amount of function.

Using SmartQuit®, an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Smartphone application, to reduce smoking intake.

Objective: SmartQuit® is a smartphone application (app) for smoking cessation based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a behavioural therapy that encourages individuals to accept internal experiences, such as cravings to smoke, without acting on those experiences or urges. We used a single-subject (A-B-A) design with 10 participants to examine whether SmartQuit® use would reduce cigarette intake in a New Zealand sample.

Methods: 10 smokers tallied their own cravings experienced and cigarettes smoked then sent those tallies to the first author every day until we observed stable patterns (Phase A1).

Use and validation of mirrorless digital single light reflex camera for recording of vitreoretinal surgeries in high definition.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to describe the use of commercial digital single light reflex (DSLR) for vitreoretinal surgery recording and compare it to standard 3-chip charged coupling device (CCD) camera.

Methods: Simultaneous recording was done using Sony A7s2 camera and Sony high-definition 3-chip camera attached to each side of the microscope. The videos recorded from both the camera systems were edited and sequences of similar time frames were selected.

Evaluation of vitreoretinal interface changes in patients receiving intravitreal anti-VEGF therapy.

Purpose: To study the effects of repeated intravitreal injection of anti-VEGF drug bevacizumab on the vitreoretinal interface (VRI).

Methods: Patients undergoing intravitreal injection of bevacizumab were enrolled. Eyes with media haze, uveitis, high myopia, history of cataract surgery or laser capsulotomy in last 6 months and complicated pseudophakia were excluded.

Familial aggregation of autoimmune thyroiditis in first-degree relatives of patients with juvenile autoimmune thyroid disease.

Several studies have shown aggregation of autoimmune thyroiditis in families by estimation of thyroid antibodies. However, the prevalence by concurrent estimation with fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) and thyroid antibodies has not been previously reported. We therefore studied 222 first-degree relatives (group 1) of 71 index cases diagnosed as lymphocytic thyroiditis on FNAC and 81 family members (group 2) of 23 goitrous children diagnosed as colloid goiter on FNAC for comparison.

Psychological variables that differentiate fast and slow progressing farmers are studied with particular emphasis on the work of McClelland. Sixteen different sociopsychological variables were reliably measured on 51 pairs of fast and slow progressing brothers. Three analyses were done: (a) comparison of fast and slow progressing groups, (b) comparison of extreme fast and slow progressing groups, (c) correlation of the measured variables with growth in agricultural productivity.
