European survey on metabolic and cardiovascular risk in Cushing syndrome.

Background: Cushing's syndrome (CS) is associated with increased metabolic and cardiovascular (CV) risk factors and morbidities. Evidence-based guidelines for the management of these issues in active or remitted CS are not available, so best practice is derived from guidelines developed for the general population. We aimed to evaluate the awareness and practice variation for CV comorbidities of CS across Reference Centres (RCs) of the European Reference Network on Rare Endocrine Conditions (Endo-ERN).

Circular RNAs accumulate in aging human placental tissue and in stillbirth, leading to DNA damage and cellular senescence.

Background: Unexplained stillbirth may occur due to premature placental aging, with unexpected deterioration of placental function for gestational age. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are enzyme-resistant RNA molecules that accumulate in aging tissues. Furthermore, circRNAs bind gDNA directly, forming complexes which can induce DNA breaks and genomic instability.

Face perception, attention, and memory as predictors of social change in autistic children.

Objective: Social perception and attention markers have been identified that, on average, differentiate autistic from non-autistic children. However, little is known about how these markers predict behavior over time at both short and long time intervals.

Methods: We conducted a large multisite, naturalistic study of 6- to 11-year-old children diagnosed with ASD ( = 214).

The mini-Oxford cognitive screen (Mini-OCS): A very brief cognitive screen for use in chronic stroke.

Introduction: No stroke-specific cognitive screen currently exists for community-dwelling chronic stroke survivors, with primary care and community settings relying on dementia tools which often do not consider specific post-stroke impairments. The Oxford Cognitive Screen (OCS) was developed for use in acute stroke, but its administration time is prohibitive for brief screening. Here, we aimed to develop, standardise and psychometrically validate the Mini-Oxford Cognitive Screen (Mini-OCS), a brief (<8 min) cognitive screen aimed for use in chronic stroke.
