Aims: Balanced dual V1a/ V2 vasopressin receptor antagonism may offer potential advantages as an adjunctive and/or a replacement therapy to loop diuretic therapy.

Methods And Results: AVANTI was a double-blind, randomized trial in patients hospitalized with heart failure and residual congestion. In Part A, patients received pecavaptan or placebo as adjunctive therapy to standard of care for 30 days.

Winter Climate Change Reshapes Soil Climate and Biogeochemistry in a Novel Snowmelt Experiment.

Winter climate change is outpacing our conceptual understanding of how winter conditions regulate soil biogeochemical cycling and ultimately impact vital ecosystem services like soil carbon and nutrient retention. In seasonally snow-covered ecosystems like northern temperate forests, increasingly inconsistent winters lead to less precipitation falling as snow, frequent midwinter snow melting, and the loss of a stable, insulative snowpack. These changes leave soils vulnerable to freezing, freeze/thaw cycling, and increasing dry/wet cycles from added snowmelt and rainwater.

Clonal hematopoiesis and risk of non-myeloid subsequent malignant neoplasms after autologous hematopoietic cell transplantation.

Purpose: Examine the association between clonal hematopoiesis (CH) and non-myeloid subsequent malignant neoplasms (SMNs) after autologous hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT).

Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study of 1,931 consecutive patients who underwent HCT between 2010 and 2016 at a single center. DNA from pre-HCT mobilized blood products was sequenced to identify CH variants (variant allele frequency [VAF] ≥2%).
