The Childhood Opportunity Index (COI) and Index of Concentration at the Extremes (ICE) are SES markers that have been used to evaluate health disparities in orthopaedic care. The utility of these SES markers in identifying differences in AIS presentation remains unclear.

This study compares the association between presenting hip or knee pain symptomatology and its effects on time to diagnosis and treatment of SCFE, mid- to long-term complications, and risk of requiring hip reconstructive surgeries.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted comparing SCFE presentations with chief complaints of either hip or knee pain that led to SCFE surgery.
Background: Calcaneal lengthening osteotomy (CLO) is frequently utilized to treat painful flexible flatfoot (FF) in children. The purpose of this investigation is to analyze the impact of CLO on patient reported pain and mobility using Patient Reported Outcome Measurement Information System (PROMIS) scores in a cohort of pediatric patients treated for painful FF.
Methods: Children aged 8-18 who underwent CLO for painful FF correction were included.
Introduction: Clubfoot is at times associated with other lower extremity abnormalities, such as leg length discrepancy (LLD). Initial studies in patients treated with extensive soft tissue release (STR) have estimated that LLD is prevalent in 9% to 11% of children with idiopathic clubfoot. However, Ponseti-style serial casting has since replaced STR as the preferred clubfoot treatment method.
