Universal screening for developmental language delay (DLD) is of vital importance, as early identification and intervention can significantly reduce the risk of long-term adverse outcomes, including diminished cognitive functioning, impaired communication skills, and literacy difficulties. This study aimed to determine the prevalence and risk factors associated with DLD in children. Background: Vagal nerve stimulation (VNS) is an adjunctive therapy to pharmacologic treatment in patients with drug-resistant epilepsy. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of VNS therapy for seizure frequency reduction and improving the quality-of-life (QOL) measures in children with refractory epilepsy and to evaluate the correlation between the perspectives of families and those of the treating team.

Objective: To estimate the incidence of brain abnormalities in a cohort of prelingually deaf children and whether these abnormalities can impact the hearing outcomes of patients eligible for cochlear implantation (CI).
Methods: We performed a retrospective review of consecutive medical charts of prelingually deaf children under 12 years of age who underwent brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) during their preoperative workup for CI surgery. We used the category of auditory performance (CAP) test and the speech intelligibility rating (SIR) test to assess the hearing and speech performance of the children, respectively.
Background: Adherence to a gluten-free diet (GFD) and food insecurity (FI) may influence health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in individuals with celiac disease (CD). This study aimed to investigate the association between adherence to a GFD, FI, and HRQOL in individuals with CD.
