Structural degradation of all inorganic CsPbBr in the presence of moisture is considered as one of its major limitations to use as an active component in various light-harvesting and light-emitting devices. Herein, we used two similar molecules, HO and HS, with similar structures, to follow the decomposition mechanism of CsPbBr perovskite nanocrystals. Interestingly, HO acts as a catalyst for the decomposition of CsPbBr, which is in contrast to HS.

The device performance was optimized by controlling the size of the CdSe QDs and the buffer layer thickness. The buffer layer, with an optimum thickness and QD size, has been found to promote charge extraction and reduces interface recombinations, leading to an increased open-circuit voltage ( ), short circuit current density ( ), fill factor (FF) and power conversion efficiency (PCE).

The synthesis was achieved by a high temperature organometallic method with oleylamine as ligand. Structural and optical properties of the nanostructures were investigated using X-ray diffraction, high resolution transmission electron microscopy, selected area electron diffraction, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, inductive coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and absorption spectroscopy.

A layer of indium selenide was grown over the CuInS QD core, under high temperature in the presence of oleylamine. The optical properties of the nanostructures grown were studied using UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy and the band gap obtained was in line with the cyclic voltammetry (CV) results.

Compared to unconjugated quantum dots (QD), these probes underwent efficient cellular internalization and tumor targeting behavior, retaining bright emission under in vivo cancer models. Silica over coated cadmium selenide quantum dots were conjugated with Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) monoclonal antibody to detect the over expression of EGFR in cancer models.
