Background: Group B (GBS) infection among pregnant women is a major risk factor for a significant proportion of early-onset disease and late-onset disease in infants worldwide; however, data on the epidemiological features of GBS in Vietnam are very limited.
Objectives: To determine the prevalence, potential risk factors, and serotype distribution of GBS isolates isolated from rectovaginal specimens of Vietnamese pregnant women.
Design: Cross-sectional study.
• Application of real-world data and artificial intelligence in detecting cardiotoxicity following cancer treatment. • Clinical features have been used to develop prediction models. • Important features include age, tumor size, hypertension, HbA1c, HDL, creatinine, bilirubin, BUN, ALT, and diabetes.

In the study of coronary artery disease, the mechanisms underlying atherosclerosis initiation and progression or regression remain incompletely understood. Our research conceptualized the cardiovascular system as an integrated network of pumps and pipes, advocating for a paradigm shift from static imaging of coronary stenosis to dynamic assessments of coronary flow. Further review of fluid mechanics highlighted the water hammer phenomenon as a compelling analog for processes in coronary arteries.

The grey-shanked douc langur () is a recently described, critically endangered primate, endemic to Vietnam. In this study, we describe the Central Highland species' complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome-mtDNA). It is a circular molecule with a length of 16,541 base pairs (bp).

Experiments from the current study showed that hypoxic exposure downregulates PKA/CREB signaling, which is restored by forskolin (FSK), an adenylate cyclase activator, in both Neuro2a (N2a) cells and zebrafish brain. FSK significantly protected N2a cells from hypoxia-induced cell death and neurite shrinkage.

The study aims to develop machine-learning models to predict cardiac adverse events in female breast cancer patients who receive adjuvant therapy. We selected breast cancer patients from a retrospective dataset of the Taipei Medical University Clinical Research Database and Taiwan Cancer Registry between January 2004 and December 2020. Patients were monitored at the date of prescribed chemo- and/or -target therapies until cardiac adverse events occurred during a year.

Breast cancer prognostic factors were explored using machine learning techniques. We conducted a retrospective study using data from the Taipei Medical University Clinical Research Database, which contains electronic medical records from three affiliated hospitals in Taiwan.

Pall. exhibits antioxidant, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties; however, its pharmacological mechanism in allergy is yet to be understood. This study confirmed the effects of Pall.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAlthough (camu-camu) has been shown to exert anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effects in both in vitro and in vivo studies, its use in allergic responses has not been elucidated. In the present study, the anti-allergic effect of 70% ethanol camu-camu fruit extract was tested on calcium ionophore (A23187)-induced allergies in RBL-2H3 cells. The RBL-2H3 cells were induced with 100 nM A23187 for 6 h, followed by a 1 h camu-camu fruit extract treatment.

Long-term exposure of the skin to solar radiation causes chronic inflammation and oxidative stress, which accelerates collagen degradation. This contributes to the formation of wrinkles and dark spots, skin fragility, and even skin cancer. In this study, (AC), a herb from North America that is well known for treating microorganism infection and promoting wound healing, was investigated for its photoprotective effects.

Although camu-camu has received a great deal of attention for its potential pharmacological activities, there is little information on the anti-oxidative stress and anti-inflammatory effects of camu-camu fruit in skin diseases. In the present study, we investigated the preventative effect of 70% ethanol camu-camu fruit extract against high glucose-induced human keratinocytes.

However, there is limited understanding about its anti-oxidative stress and anti-inflammatory effects on skin. In this study, 70% ethanol berry extract (CLE) was investigated on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated keratinocytes.

Besides, the mixture of active components isolated from herbal extracts, ginsenoside F2, and α-gastrodin was investigated on the photo-protective capability. The expression of aging-related markers including matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and procollagen type 1 was evaluated using ELISA kits.

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease that persists or repeatedly recurs in both childhood and adulthood. (UT) is an aroma herb with little-known pharmacological effects and anti-inflammatory activities against AD. This study investigated the immunomodulatory efficacy of 50% ethanol-extracted UT in necrosis factor-alpha/interferon-gamma (TNF-α/IFN-γ)-stimulated HaCaT cells in vitro and AD-Biostir-induced NC/Nga mice in vivo.
