We present a technique for the measurement of surface form error of an optical surface using a ring source and polarization phase-shifting interferometry (PPSI). The ring source, generated using a refracting axicon, is projected onto a rotating diffuser to reduce the spatial coherence noise generated by the spatially coherent He-Ne laser and to enhance the interference fringe contrast. PPSI is applied to extract the phase [and hence the optical path difference (OPD)] from the interference fringes formed by a Fizeau cavity using the ring source.

An outbreak of immature paramphistomosis in Nellore Jodipi sheep was recorded in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh in 158 sheep during the months of April-June-2012. The condition is diagnosed as immature paramphistomosis on the basis of symptoms, dung sample examination and necropsy findings. The infected sheep exhibited symptoms like persistent foetid, blackish diarrhoea, sub maxillary edema, dehydration and death.

Polyopisthocotylean monogenean parasites of fishes are highly host specific and have been used as an appropriate model to study the host-parasite co-evolution. In the present study, eight monogeneans of the order Mazocraeidea were characterized by nuclear 28S rDNA sequences and their phylogenetic relationship with other polyopisthocotylean species was investigated. Neighbour-joining, maximum parsimony, maximum likelihood and Bayesian Inference methods were used for phylogenetic reconstruction.

A series of salicylic acid derivatives containing isoxazoline moiety (8a-j) were synthesized and their immunopharmacological activities targeting lymphocyte proliferation and angiogenesis were evaluated. The compounds 8a-j mitogenicity were investigated on immunological cells that include human peripheral blood lymphocytes and murine splenocytes in-vitro.

The data were obtained to understand the effect of vitamin A deficiency on the expression status (both gene and protein levels) of some of the key factors involved in lipogenesis, fatty acid oxidation, triglyceride secretion, long chain PUFA, resolvin D1 synthesis, glucose transport and glycogen synthesis of liver, using modern biology tools, such as quantitative real-time PCR (RT-PCR) and immunoblotting techniques. This data article provides the supporting evidence to the article "Vitamin A deficiency suppresses high fructose-induced triglyceride synthesis and elevates resolvin D1 levels" [1] and therefore, these data may be referred back, for comprehensive understanding and interpretations and for future studies.

We present a technique for the measurement of roll angular displacement of a rotary stage using a lateral shearing cyclic path optical configuration (CPOC) setup and polarization phase shifting interferometry (PPSI). The CPOC setup, aligned on the rotary stage, laterally shears the input plane polarized spherical beam into a pair of orthogonally polarized beams, which when brought to the same state of polarization by a polarizer produce interference fringes similar to Young's fringes. Rotation of the CPOC setup in its plane introduces a phase change between the orthogonally polarized lateral sheared beams due to the change in angle of incidence of the input beam.
