Background: Partial response to standard-dose proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) in gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is common, yet real-world data on its burden and management in Indian settings remain limited.
Objective: This study aimed to understand the burden, clinical profile, drug utilization patterns across specialties, the effectiveness of Pantoprazole 80 mg dual delayed-release (DDR) formulation, and management strategies used in the treatment of partial responders with clinically diagnosed GERD in Indian settings.
Methods: This was a multicentric, retrospective observational study.
The prevalence of diabetes has risen considerably among older adults around the globe. It is the primary contributor to death from cardiovascular (CV) disease and other medical comorbidities, as well as a major contributor to complications, deterioration in quality of life (QoL), and decline in physical and mental well-being in the elderly. One of the main challenges with aging is that islet cells become dysfunctional, and their glucose metabolism changes with increasing age.

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a major public health problem globally, with significant socioeconomic ramifications for healthcare systems. Diabetes unquestionably contributes to both cardiovascular disease (CVD) and chronic renal disease. Hospitalization, low quality of life, and high mortality rate are inevitable in patients with this dual burden.

In India, T2DM management is complicated by the presence of distinct clinical characteristics as well as certain socioeconomic factors of the patient population. These factors affect glycemic control and lead to poorer outcomes, necessitating the use of add-on treatments with safer medications, which can be used over the long term with minimal follow-up.

Background: Despite multiple antibiotics being available to manage dental infections (DI), there is lack of data comparing commonly prescribed antibiotics in India.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the real-world effectiveness and tolerability of cephalexin-clavulanic acid fixed-dose combination (cephalexin CV FDC) in contrast with amoxicillin-clavulanic acid (co-amoxiclav FDC) and cefuroxime among patients with dental infections (odontogenic) in India.
Methods: This retrospective, multi-centric, observational, real-world electronic medical record (EMR)-based study was conducted between January 2022 and December 2022.
In coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients, dysregulated release of matrix metalloproteinases occurs during the inflammatory phase of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), resulting in epithelial and endothelial injury with excessive fibroproliferation. COVID-19 resembles idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) in several aspects. The fibrotic response in IPF is driven primarily by an abnormally activated alveolar epithelial cells (AECs) which release cytokines to activate fibroblasts.

Eosinophilic inflammation is associated with exacerbations and disease severity due to biological activity of interleukin-5 (IL-5). Patients with severe asthma have reported reduced lung function and poor health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and may require systemic corticosteroids for its management.
