Background There is ongoing debate regarding the impact of direct-acting antiviral drugs (DAAs) on the occurrence of de novo hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) plays a crucial role in the development and angiogenesis of HCC.
