Glass injuries seen in a paediatric tertiary hospital in Singapore: An epidemiology study.

Lacerations rank as the most common paediatric injury that requires a physician evaluation. Glass is a frequent cause of such lacerations, however there is currently little to no information on this. Hence, this paper aims to describe the burden and characteristics of such injuries in Singapore.

Complete remodelling post-intralesional resection of an aggressive proximal humerus aneurysmal bone cyst mimicking telangiectatic osteosarcoma.

We describe a case of an aggressive proximal humerus aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) mimicking telangiectatic osteosarcoma with complete remodelling and reconstitution of the bone. A boy in middle childhood presented with a pathological fracture preceded by progressive right shoulder pain and swelling. Imaging and open biopsy supported the diagnosis of primary ABC with positive ubiquitin-specific protease 6 gene fusion.

Eccrine Poroma of the Palm: A Case Report and Literature Review.

Eccrine poroma is a non-cancerous tumor that arises from the intraepidermal portion of the eccrine sweat glands. It usually appears as a solitary lesion on an extremity, commonly on the foot or sole, and is often subject to delayed or inaccurate diagnosis in clinical settings. This article describes a rare case of eccrine poroma located on the palm.

Good short-term results following arthroscopic deepening trochleoplasty combined with medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction: surgical technique and outcomes.

Purpose: To report short-term results and clinical outcomes of arthroscopic deepening trochleoplasty combined with medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction utilizing standard arthroscopic instruments in patients of recurrent patellar dislocation and trochlear dysplasia.

Methods: This is a case series of 13 patients between the ages of 14 and 20 years who presented with recurrent patellar dislocation and severe trochlear dysplasia (Dejour grade D). They were treated surgically using an arthroscopic technique from February 2017 to January 2019 and were followed for 18 months.

Improved Comfortability and Satisfaction of Hybrid-mesh Casts in the Conservative Management of Pediatric Supracondylar Humeral Fractures: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

Background: Cast immobilization is the mainstay of treatment for stable pediatric supracondylar humeral fractures (SCHFs). In recent years, a waterproof and breathable hybrid-mesh (HM) cast has emerged and been marketed to address common complaints such as itch, skin irritation, and malodor. Hence, this randomized controlled trial seeks to assess the overall satisfaction, comfort, and clinical outcomes of using HM casts in the conservative treatment of stable pediatric SCHF.

Management of Symptomatic Isolated Congenital Anterior Cruciate Ligament Deficiency with Gradual Correction of Biplanar Proximal Tibial Deformity: A Case Report.

Introduction: Isolated congenital ACLD is a rare condition with limited literature on the optimal management approach. At present, patients with instability symptoms have been managed with ACL reconstruction in case reports. We present a case report of symptomatic isolated congenital anterior cruciate ligament deficiency (ACLD) managed effectively with gradual correction of biplanar proximal tibial deformity alone.

Posterior sloping angle of the capital femoral physis in slipped capital femoral epiphysis has poor clinical utility and should not guide treatment on prophylactic fixation.

Background: Prophylactic pinning of the uninvolved side after unilateral slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE) is controversial as it balances increased surgical risks against the possibility of protecting a normal hip from initial slip and deformity. A posterior sloping angle (PSA) of greater than 12-14.5° has been proposed by various authors as a treatment threshold to predict for contralateral hip progression and prophylactic pinning.
