Objectives: To analyze the different imaging manifestations of prostatitis and prostate cancer (PCa), and propose systematic differentiation and validate its diagnostic performance.

Methods: Men with histologically proven prostatitis or PCa who had pretreatment multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) and lesions in the PZ were retrospectively identified from January 2018 to May 2022. The images were evaluated by two experienced radiologists, and key imaging features for differential diagnosis were summarized and analyzed via univariable and multivariable logistic regression.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-associated mortality, with a poor treatment approach. Previous study has shown that inducing pyroptosis in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) slows the growth of PDACs, implying that pyroptosis inducers are potentially effective for PDAC therapy. Here, we found that Dronedarone hydrochloride (DH), an antiarrhythmic drug, induces pyroptosis in pancreatic cancer cells and inhibits PDAC development in mice.

Efficient clearance of dying cells (efferocytosis) is an evolutionarily conserved process for tissue homeostasis. Genetic enhancement of efferocytosis exhibits therapeutic potential for inflammation resolution and tissue repair. However, pharmacological approaches to enhance efferocytosis remain sparse due to a lack of targets for modulation.

Article Synopsis
  • * Materials and Methods: A total of 379 patients (106 hpIDC-P, 105 lpIDC-P, and 168 PAC) who underwent MRI between January 2015 and December 2020 were analyzed, comparing tumor characteristics and using logistic regression to create models for distinguishing between the cancer types.
  • * Results and Conclusion: IDC-P demonstrated larger tumor size and more invasive characteristics compared to PAC. hpIDC-P

Adult-type rhabdomyoma (AR) is a benign myogenous neoplasm. It is rarely located in the thyroid. We present a case of a 61-year-old man, presenting with complaints of a mass found in his left neck for three years.

Background: Paragangliomas (PGLs) are uncommon tumors of uncertain malignant potential. Multifocal paragangliomas are scarcely reported in the literature.

Case Summary: A 25-year-old male patient was reported for the first time with multifocal para-aortic and para-vesical PGLs.

Objective: Thyroid cancer has been an increasingly high-profile public health issue. Comprehensive assessment for its disease burden seems particularly important for understanding health priorities and hinting high-risk populations.

Methods: We estimated the age-sex-specific thyroid cancer burden and its temporal trend in China from 1990 to 2019 by following the general methods from the global burden of disease (GBDs) 2019 Study.

Background: The relationship between prostate cancer (PCa) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) remains unclear. This study aimed to determine whether prostate zonal volume was associated with the location and aggressiveness of PCa.

Methods: 412 PCa patients were retrospectively enrolled.

Objective: To investigate the multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) features of fumarate hydratase-deficient renal cell carcinoma (FH-deficient RCC) with germline or somatic mutations, and compare them with those of papillary type II RCC (pRCC type II).

Materials And Methods: A total of 24 patients (mean ± standard deviation, 40.4 ± 14.

Corticosteroid switching can reverse abiraterone resistance in some patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Here, we investigated the potential biomarkers for predicting the efficacy of corticosteroid switching during treatment with abiraterone acetate (AA). We retrospectively analyzed 101 mCRPC patients receiving corticosteroid switching from West China Hospital and Sun Yat-Sen University Cancer Center between January 2016 and December 2018.

This study aimed to explore the clinical and oncologic findings in patients with de novo metastatic prostate cancer (mPCa) and extraprostatic extension (EPE) on biopsy. We retrospectively evaluated data on 630 patients with de novo mPCa between January 2009 and December 2017 in the West China Hospital (Chengdu, China), including evaluating the relationships between EPE and other variables and the association of EPE with survival outcomes by the Chi-square test, Kaplan-Meier curves, and the Cox proportional-hazards model. EPE was found in 70/630 patients, making a prevalence of 11.

Cisplatin is a widely used anti-cancer agent, which was believed to trigger apoptosis of cancer cells by forming DNA adducts. However, recent studies evidenced a cisplatin-induced extrinsic apoptotic pathway through interaction with plasma membranes. We present quantitative time-course imaging of cisplatin-induced permeation of ferrocenemethanol to single live human bladder cancer cells (T24) using scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM).

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is common genitourinary malignancy in human, 30-40% of patients with RCC would be diagnosed with metastatic RCC (mRCC). Even in the era of targeted therapy, patients with mRCC would inevitably progress due to drug resistance. Herein, exploration of the mechanisms of resistance is noteworthy to study.
